Originally from Palestine, he spent his early years immersed in the richness of its culture and traditional music. His musical journey began at the Conservatory of Music, where he studied musicology and classical guitar, but it was in Europe where he honed his skills and developed a deep understanding of electronic music.
His artistic project fuses the traditional and the contemporary, mixing the captivating sounds of the oud, the emblematic instrument of Palestine, with the hypnotic beats of techno. Through his music, Zaataric tells the story of his native land, seeking to reestablish Palestine’s place in the musical landscape.
His stage name, Zaataric, a tribute to zaatar, the wild thyme that grows courageously between the rocks of the Palestinian mountains, a symbol of resistance and perseverance.

Today I’m talking about my track Espionnage.
In this piece, I express my emotions as an artist living with the constant feeling of being watched. Technology surrounds us, monitoring continuously, tracking and categorizing our behaviors in ways that feel deeply unfair. It judges, decides, and creates a persistent sense of discomfort.
This technology is everywhere, taking many forms, AI, phones, social media. Even music and art are shaped and constrained by broader systems of control.
Today, being an artist doesn’t always mean being truly free. Even when we try to be, something remains, the lingering feeling of surveillance.
Espionnage is that feeling, translated into sound.

Depuis le début, Zaataric n’a eu de cesse de peser de tout son poids afin de témoigner, mettre en lumière et soutenir la Palestine au travers de son projet. Sa musique est un trait d’union entre différentes cultures.
J’ai vraiment un coup de cœur pour le morceau Watermelons qui est un hymne solaire rempli de poésie et d’espoir.
