Sad reality is that this dump was my most favourite place to be,
Airsoft was great but the people were what made it. What a pleasure it was to be a player then to PM the site, then back to being a player again 👀 but honestly wouldn’t change it.

The Airsoft I won’t miss as there’s plenty of places for that, I’ll miss the homies, not to name names but the real ones know who you are. Z after dark was special and honestly therapeutic for a man just trying to escape the monotony of a 9-5 and the stresses of fatherhood.

Gunna miss everyone from the goats to the R2D2s

Especially @yetilabsuk and @tiger__airsoft sorry you had to put up with so much of me 😂

With ZED officially coming to a close to make way for “luxury apartments,” it feels like a massive chapter of my life is finally closing. It’s a strange feeling—part relief, part sadness, but mostly pride.

I am incredibly thankful for the friendships I’ve made in this run down building. To every player who walked through our doors week in and week out: thank you for making this site what it was.

I’ll take a second and be honest—there are things I won’t miss. I won’t miss the repetitive safety briefings and most importantly I won’t miss the constant battle to get grown men to take their hits. It’s a plague on the sport, and nobody is exempt—from the Speedsofters to the real steel Milsim guys. The only ones that get a pass from me is the rentals. They’re new, they’re padded up, and they’re just trying to play and have a laugh on their first day. Instead of getting frustrated with them, let’s keep teaching them the right way to do things so the sport just gets better and better.

As Head Marshal, this site was for lack of better words my home for the last 5 years. Now that the book is closing, I feel a bit lost. I don’t know what I’ll be doing next, or where I’ll go from here. For literally years, my weekends were defined by the chaos and the community we built here in Newbury. To have that taken away (through no fault of our own) just feels empty. Need not worry we are working on finding a new site but what truly will happen, not even I know…

ZED might be turning into bricks and mortar, but the memories we made will stay with us forever and I love that.

It’s been a long time coming, sad it’s happened so soon.

Hi All,

We have some difficult news to share. Z-Mart has been served notice, and we will be returning the keys on 31st January 2026. This means we have around 2.5 months left at our current location.

Until then, we’re going to make the absolute most of the time we have left. Between now and closure we will be running:

- 11 Sunday Skirmish events
- ⁠9 Thursday Night games (excluding Christmas Day & New Year’s Day)
- ⁠2 Speedsoft events
- ⁠We are also exploring additional Saturday Skirmish events to give players even more opportunities to get games in before we move.

All revenue from these events will go directly toward securing a new indoor site in the local area. We have already begun the search and will share confirmed updates as soon as we can.

We know this site means a lot to many of you, and we hope you’ll join us over the coming weeks to enjoy it one last time. Your support now will make a huge difference in helping us bring the next chapter of Z Airsoft to life.

This is a long one but….

*Z-MART NEEDS YOU*

We’ve had a really tough run lately with low player numbers over the spring and summer, which has led to *a lot* of cancelled events and taken a big toll on Z-Mart. Despite what some may think, airsoft sites operate on very fine margins — there really isn’t much money in it. Everything we make goes straight back into the site to cover maintenance and improvements for our players.

For context, I took over running Z at the start of this year and haven’t taken a penny out since. This isn’t a plea for sympathy, but to show that myself and the team run the site purely out of love for airsoft and a passion for keeping an indoor CQB hub alive in the South.

On top of that, our business rates increased by over 200% this year alone, so it’s more important than ever that as many events as possible go ahead.

Unfortunately, if things don’t pick up over the autumn and winter months, we may have to face the possibility of the site closing down — something none of us want to see happen.

If you’ve been thinking about getting a game in, now’s the time. Please book onto upcoming events if you can, and bring a mate along too — every booking genuinely helps keep the site alive.

We completely understand that times are tough with the cost of living crisis, but any support you can show means more than you’ll ever know.
