Announcing her a bit early bc she is my everything. I’ve spent the past year developing a line of core basics for @shopbearsh0p to offer to other young artists and brands alike 🤍 Beginning with: The Unisex Tee. The idea behind the tee was an oversized fit that would accommodate most body types but also offer a cost effective way for designers to only have to develop into 2 bodies instead of having to decide what their size range should be (do you offer XXS, what about XXL?). Fabric of course is just as methodical, using only dead stock fabrics hand selected by yours truly, we use 100% cotton jersey; having a weight that was heavy enough to withstand any and all wash processes our designers dream up was key here, as was sustainability and recycling where we can ♻️ I’ll write a bit more about them over on @shopbearsh0p and the rest of the basics line dropping the end of this month just had to get these in the tl💕💞💓💗💖💘💝

Cole took these during a test shoot for Hollywood Pastel Palace and I saved them because I knew I wanted to start introducing myself on the Bearshop Blog #BEARSTAN a bit more so you guys could put a name to a face (: I styled myself in sweaters I accepted as payment as an intern, wash tests, and of course Bear’s first product— the bear tank!

Head over to the blog to read a bit on Bear’s origin story where I talk inspiration, interning in fashion school, and all the fun that came with moving to Los Angeles 🩷

May the 4th!!!!! As a former fashion girlie, I stopped watching Met gala red carpet when they did the Camp carpet 💅 and I suggest you all divest accordingly 🥂🤪🤘🏽#boycottmetgala

HOWEVER I will use the holiday to repost one of my favorite red carpet moments back from 2015’s #maytheforce ‘Force 4 Fashion’ fashion show which my company at the time, Halston, had participated in (I assisted in developing the fabric as senior evening wear coordinator and was always front and center when it came to special projects or fire drill concepts🚨💀🪦).

Star Wars was a huuuuge common thread for my family growing up— bridging the connection between my brother, myself, and my father as sports or video games became king for @cristonamo 😂

Watching the Star Wars films together was always something everyone enjoyed in our family, so when our head of design was asked to attend the event, I of course thought THIS IS A DREAM 🩶 My entire department (comprised of 3 people lmao) all watched very closelyat what our PR dept would publish the Monday following the carpet— we were such fans of our head of design and celebrated her like a mother 😂 and I do still love this quote from her. And I truly loved the crepe that was chosen for the gown and makes me yearn for a time when things weren’t so complicated<3 this fabric came to us from Japan and the concept only came together because of partnership and integrity… something I don’t see so often in the board room nowadays but before I ramble on perhaps we can all take a page out of the Empire Strikes Back today<3

The second to last slide was my second fav— a sketch from @cynthiarowley bc I was OBESSED w #bb8 and I think foreshadowed what the next decade would hold for my dive into streetwear following mass market and midrange contemporary. Since the Kylo gown I’ve done a few more products featuring Mandalorian licenses following Disney’s acquisition but none of that work felt as magical as the Kylo gown, so she deserves a spot on main grid once again and May the Fourth be with all of you👽 🖖🏽

Instagram
