His images, known for their emotional depth and refined composition, bring a contemporary vibrancy to our historic setting, uniting tradition with the spirit of modern artistry.

Born in Scarborough, North Yorkshire, Santini first discovered photography at the age of thirteen with his mother’s old Agfa camera. What began as a quiet fascination soon became an enduring passion, as he sought to capture fleeting, unguarded moments that reveal the intricacies of human life. For Santini, the camera is both mirror and interpreter—a means of distilling truth, culture and emotion into a single, resonant frame.

After studying at Harrogate College and the London College of Communication, he emerged as an accomplished reportage photographer before expanding into portraiture, music, fashion and advertising. His work, celebrated for its intimacy and insight, has been exhibited at the National Portrait Gallery and featured in leading international publications including i-D, Vogue, Flaunt and Nylon. His acclaimed book Persona, published in 2004, captures the depth and dynamism of his portraiture practice.
