Fahrenheit has been nominated for the AUDIENCE:AWARD at CPH:DOX. Feeling very blessed and grateful working on this film, which has been the most personal and intimate journey, curse-breaking and splintering fantasies in post-war Iraq. The remaining shards makes this happen, but not without an irreplaceble support from my comrades. Thank you to my dear sister @jasminfranko and to my beloved father. It couldnt have been done without you.
AI developer and wizard @brackalex and @uonal and not the least, thank you to @overgaden_ for believing in my practice and @cphdox granting the film a stage !
And to everybody else who have poured your skills and talent into this !

~ The new publications for our two current solo exhibitions are now available—free online now (link in bio) and ready in print at O—Overgaden in a couple of weeks (50 DKK).
Here’s a sneak peek at the new publication accompanying Kamil Dossar’s exhibition “Fahrenheit”!
Among other essays, the publication features a text by writer, curator, and professor at the Art Academy in Oslo, Mike Sperlinger, diving into the themes in Dossar’s works. Sperlinger comments: “Dossar is interested in a strangeness which he recognizes is ultimately his own. The ʻmonsters’ on display, at the piano or in the streets of Baghdad, are clearly anything but. They are bewildering readymades borrowed from the collective imaginary, visible indexes for a feeling of intimate and embodied estrangement. Their conspicuous overfamiliarity as figures of the alien has to stand in for an ʻunknowability’ which would otherwise—like a deep-sea creature which can never be brought to the surface—remain strictly inconceivable.”
In addition, writer, curator, and professor at the Royal Institute of Art in Stockholm Natasha Marie Llorens has contributed an essay that interweaves perspectives on monstrosity, orientalism, science fiction, and Dossar’s own biography, while the publication also includes a series of associative notes by Kamil Dossar, gleaned from conversations he shared with artist Ed Atkins during the process of creating “Fahrenheit.”
~
O—Overgaden produces a dedicated publication in conjunction with every in-house, large-scale solo exhibition, aiming to expand conversations around the shows and produce new, offshoot material. The publications are easy to access from afar—a free digital copy is available online.

~ NOW ON SHOW ~ KAMIL DOSSAR: ”FAHRENHEIT” ~
Kamil Dossar’s artistic output—films, paintings, and collages—builds chains of association often employing pop cultural references, animation, and avatars to ponder systemic images of migration, state craft, and outcast, invisible identities.
For his first large-scale solo show, Dossar has created a suite of new works toying with Western cultural codes—not unlike the Fahrenheit measuring scale or the mathematical order of Johann Sebastian Bach’s classical compositions—and their potential alienating effects.
“Fahrenheit” is on show through 25 January 2026.
Entry to O—Overgaden is, as always, free.

~ OPENING 21 NOVEMBER ~ KAMIL DOSSAR
The seductive surfaces in Kamil Dossar's films, paintings, and sculptures grow from dire questions of migration, state craft, and monstrous or outcast, even invisible, identities.
In his first large-scale institutional solo exhibition, launching at O—Overgaden, Dossar employs custom-designed AI and "deep fake" technologies turning the musician in the filmic recording of a classical Bach piano concerto into a reptile. Commenting on the apparent benevolence of the classical music as a backbone of European culture, this gesture hints at the link between the divertissement of the ruling class and colonial brutality and oppression.
Join us for the opening of the exhibition on Friday 21 November!
Vernissage: 7–9pm
Opening party: 9pm—1am / DJs: Lukas Danys ~ Mikkel Ulriksen
The event is co-hosted by Anna Gunvor/Proxy. The bar will be open, serving cold refreshments.
The exhibition by Dossar marks the culmination of O—Overgaden’s one-year collaboration program INTRO, generously supported by the Aage og Johanne Louis-Hansen Foundation.
