DECLAN KELLY
Name: Declan Kelly (he/him)
Place of origin: Newbridge, County Kildare, Ireland 🇮🇪
Current location: London, UK 🇬🇧
Profile: @_declankelly
Type of photography: Portrait/fashion
Themes covered: Masculinity, youth culture, intimacy
——
Declan Kelly is a photographer and director who has usually worked between portrait and fashion.
He is the art director of UTOPIA, a queer sports zine built from the ground up which raised £5K for Mermaids to support trans youth.
Declan has always been drawn to collaboration, working with creative visionaries such as Jeanie Crystal, Eliza Rose, Sally C and Rebecca Ozer. The outcome of this collaborative work has landed in publications including Wonderland and Huck mag. Some of Kelly’s most recent projects include the imagery for short film, Tumtum, and photography for the ‘You Make Me Feel’ exhibition at Southwark Gallery.
“My style is rooted in masculinity, identity and youth culture. There’s a softness to it, often shot in natural light.
“It’s portraiture, but with that intimate sort of feel. A lot of the images — especially of the boys — feel like self-portraits.
“Mistakes or unexpected moments on the day often become the best parts. There’s a kind of looseness I like to leave space for!
“With my photography, I just want the viewer to feel something. Whatever that is – it’s theirs.
“It’s hugely important — essential, really — that queer voices are not just heard but genuinely seen, given space.”

We are delighted to announce a very special BOYS! BOYS! BOYS! MEETS at BOYS! BOYS! BOYS! Gallery Café London with YOUR INTERNET BOYFRIENDS, Mark and Denis.
Two Irish comedians. One gay, one straight and, let’s be honest, both gorgeous.
After selling out the Pleasance Theatre in London, they’re stepping into BOYS! BOYS! BOYS! MEETS for a night that’s a little more… intimate.
They will be recording a live episode of their podcast, followed by a chat with BOYS! BOYS! BOYS! Podcast host Graeme Smith.
This is a very limited, VIP-only evening. Small and exclusive.
Expect unfiltered chat, the chance to ask your questions directly, and a room full of boys, boys, boys. Think less “show,” more “friendly chat”
Tickets are extremely limited and once they’re gone, they’re gone. Available now from boysboysboys.org / link in bio 🎟️
