SET 91’s Open Series continues this April with ‘A PATCH Sunday Salon’, an exhibition and live programme led by PATCH, an interdisciplinary collective working across architecture, art and research.
Bringing together works by the collective and its members, the exhibition explores diasporic experiences of the city and considers how architecture can be understood through alternative, community-led lenses.
Alongside the exhibition, the evening includes a live talk and Q&A, as well as a conversational salon returning to questions of home and holding space, asking how diasporic communities can be centred within fast-paced metropolitan environments in ways that are tangible, supportive and meaningful.
This session is free to attend, open to artists, architects, spatial practitioners and those interested in the intersections of community, identity and the built environment.

Introducing SET 91’s new Open Series! 🌟
SET 91 is now launching a new programme of talks, workshops and discussions supporting artists in navigating contemporary practice, taking place periodically at the gallery throughout the year.
Kicking things off is a practical advice session on applying to Arts Council England’s National Lottery Project Grants, with a particular focus on the strand for applications under £30,000.
Led by a Relationship Manager for Visual Arts at Arts Council England (@aceagrams), the session will offer insight into how applications are assessed, common challenges applicants encounter and how to communicate ideas clearly when developing a proposal.
Applying for funding can feel complex or inaccessible, particularly for early-career artists or those working outside traditional institutional pathways. This session aims to demystify the process and offer practical guidance.
The session is free to attend.

The bedroom has gone quiet, which means only one thing: Monique Négligée has come to a close at SET 91.
For one week only, the gallery became a lived-in bedroom: a site of ritual, performance, fittings, film nights, readings, latex lessons, vacuum séances, crochet circles, boutique encounters and late-night gatherings. Bodies were sealed and reshaped. Garments were tried on and taken home. And as the bedroom faced the camera and the window remained wide open, private gesture and public spectacle blurred.
Thank you to everyone who crossed the threshold with us - those who came to the opening weekend, shopped the boutique, entered the vacuum bed, joined the workshops, danced at the closing pyjama party, or simply stood and watched.
To our hugely talented performers, readers, DJs and collaborators, we couldn’t thank you enough for making this week so much fun. You made the bedroom pulse.
Finally our deepest thanks to @moniquefei and @shshksslr for inviting us into the bedroom and holding the space so carefully behind the scenes. We already miss you!
Monique Négligée marks our sixth and final exhibition of the first six-month programme. But stay tuned as we’ll be announcing more exciting things to get involved in, as well as our next programme shortly.
See you soon. More pictures of the week to come.
