A standout piece - Colossal Head - is a significant piece of Spanish Baroque art.I’m madly in love with ‘Meditation’ - a depiction of Saint Francis of Assisi kneeling in prayer while clutching a skull to his chest - powerful representation of mortality and spiritual devotion; but i wasreally struck by the key-light and deep shadow - like you might see in a modern film set, but set back in 1635 its an amazing talent that Zurbarán has to bring real faces, soft fabrics, fresh fruit and flowers to life. 🚙💨 @Duke_of_London 2.0 is here… a classic and supercar hub sitting on @TheBrentfordRiviera, that has evolved from an organic grass roots community and the nostalgia of a good car meet up at the weekend - to today, standing as a benchmark of automotive experience in #London. 🔥 I believe brands, destinations and property folk will look on in wonder - how has Merlin McCormack managed to build this shrine to the internal combustion engine and gather so many people and why did developer Ballymore agree to it? 🤔 Merlin says it’s “More than a showroom…” - turns out since 2014, more than 50 independent businesses have attached themselves to this community, from shoe cobblers, to classic car restoration, to ceramic coating & paint protection experts, to bicycle repair, car storage PLUS a speakeasy bar called Plonkers Bar 🍸… the list goes on. The phenomenal inertia isn’t an accident - it’s hard work, patience, authenticity, charity, the building of a community brick-by-brick - real people, real businesses, real culture, manifesting in this West London hub. And at a time when Maranello is struggling to make dreams come true with poster-perfect Ferraris like the days of yesteryear, here we find the analogue, the manually gated, the naturally aspirated - the icons. Honestly, the best chief marketing officers in the land couldn’t come up with this. So yes, Redbull sent an F1 car for the launch, the gravity-defying McMurtry Spéirling was there, jaws dropped as tens of millions of £££’s of vintage Ferrari’s rolled in - the 250 GT SWB and GTOs rightly adored the world over. But you’d be a fool to think that all that glitters isn’t gold - because behind the veil of this hub, there’s 16 hour days, a first one in, last one out mentality, graft, generosity, and a very big heart. ♥️ It’s an amazing London story, and whilst we’re not in the habit of giving ⭐️ star reviews to community events and meet-ups per se - but @Duke_of_London 2.0 is now a 5-star destination in its own right, and deserves the accolades and praise. So congrats Merlin & team - no-one else could have dreamed this big. 👏🏼 @MrLondon

🚂 @MrLondon with a visit to my old office! #PaddingtonStation! 🙌🏼 That’s right, I worked for @NetworkRail once upon a time, in 2005-2006 before Instagram existed! And I helped to re-engineer the communications systems out of #Paddington and all along the Great Western Railway and deploy new mobile communications for all the train drivers who had been using analogue radio cabs for decades. Who knew! 🤷🏻‍♂️☺️ I always loved the station. The glass roof allows a huge amount of light into the station and the wrought iron and glass barrel-vaulted structure was inspired by the Crystal Palace. And of course it’s fun that you can visit #PaddingtonBear on Platform 1 where he was found by the Brown family, and that the Elizabeth Line can get you across the city in minutes. Anyone else got some love for Paddington?! 🥹🥰
