QUEER AND DISPLACED IN LEBANON.

Mosaic (@mosaic.mena) is a queer organization in Lebanon that opened up in 2014 to serve the queer community in the country. While the organization typically focuses on mental health, offering one-on-one therapy or group therapy to disenfranchised or struggling queer people, it has had to change tack recently. Israel’s escalation in Lebanon has forced Mosaic to turn itself into an emergency shelter for its queer community whose homes are located in destroyed neighborhoods.

I was invited to visit Mosaic’s first displacement shelter, and meet the new residents who are (literally) running from Israel’s aggressive onslaught. Mosaic is doing important work and is meeting the moment in Lebanon’s crisis.

Thank you to Yasmin Almokhamed Sarkisian for the art that helps keep our sources safe, and Moritz Wiesel for the expert edit. Thanks to Jihad Jneid and Mosaic for supplemental footage. And of course, please donate to Mosaic directly at their GoFundMe which you can find here:

Israel’s wave of attacks on Lebanon are the deadliest conflict in the country since the 1975–1990 civil war. According to the Lebanese Ministry of Public Health, Israeli airstrikes have killed more than 1,000 people, 118 of them children, and displaced 1 million others. Israel says it is targeting Hezbollah but has consistently struck residential buildings in the south and east of the country, the southern suburbs of Beirut, and, recently, parts of central Beirut as well.

Nowhere seems safe, especially for those whose apartments are in evacuation zones that encompass nearly 600 square miles, according to the United Nations. As of mid-March, as many as 1 in 5 people in Lebanon have been displaced by Israeli military operations. @afeefness walked the streets of Beirut to learn their stories.

Thank you @amanpourcopbs and @monesy81 for having me.

Inshallah every advocate’s voice, inside Gaza and outside of it, collectively breaks the siege and stops this genocide NOW.

Israel’s occupation, forced starvation, genocide and eradication of Palestinians has fed off of incredible misinformation and PR, but with every earnest voice we raise, we resist. With a wave of truth telling anything is possible. We need that possibility to turn into Palestinians staying alive and thriving in Palestine.

@chiosse sits down With Afeef Nessouli —

What if politicians knew what it felt like to put their bodies on the line for us? Would they be better at solving the problems that we face day in and day out?

Chi Ossé went from a Brooklyn kid promoting NYC nightlife, to a Black Lives Matter organizer, to the youngest NYC councilmember at 23 years old.

A few weeks ago, he was arrested for putting his body on the line to protest deed theft for his constituents. They were actively being victimized by deed scammers in Brooklyn.

I sat down with Chi a couple of times over the last few months to understand his strategy of affecting material change through local politics. He is a politician that has changed how politicians communicate their value to us as constituents and so many have followed his lead.

If there is any time to study what works, it is now.

Yo te llevo dentro
I keep you inside
Hasta la raíz
Down to the root
Y por más que crezca
And even if I’ll grow
Vas a estar aquí
You will be here

Our third week of protests, this time in Montréal and NYC! Israel continues to erase villages in South Lebanon, continues to kill civilians, continues to target paramedics - every single day. We have a responsibility in the diaspora to create real global consciousness with Lebanon as a people and society. We call on allies to join us by filling the form, taking part in our next sit-in's and events, and being part of a slow process of building power and leverage for our country and society in the face of a brutal military occupation.

View Instagram Stories in Secret

The Instagram Story Viewer is an easy tool that lets you secretly watch and save Instagram stories, videos, photos, or IGTV. With this service, you can download content and enjoy it offline whenever you like. If you find something interesting on Instagram that you’d like to check out later or want to view stories while staying anonymous, our Viewer is perfect for you. Anonstories offers an excellent solution for keeping your identity hidden. Instagram first launched the Stories feature in August 2023, which was quickly adopted by other platforms due to its engaging, time-sensitive format. Stories let users share quick updates, whether photos, videos, or selfies, enhanced with text, emojis, or filters, and are visible for only 24 hours. This limited time frame creates high engagement compared to regular posts. In today’s world, Stories are one of the most popular ways to connect and communicate on social media. However, when you view a Story, the creator can see your name in their viewer list, which may be a privacy concern. What if you wish to browse Stories without being noticed? Here’s where Anonstories becomes useful. It allows you to watch public Instagram content without revealing your identity. Simply enter the username of the profile you’re curious about, and the tool will display their latest Stories. Features of Anonstories Viewer: - Anonymous Browsing: Watch Stories without showing up on the viewer list. - No Account Needed: View public content without signing up for an Instagram account. - Content Download: Save any Stories content directly to your device for offline use. - View Highlights: Access Instagram Highlights, even beyond the 24-hour window. - Repost Monitoring: Track the reposts or engagement levels on Stories for personal profiles. Limitations: - This tool works only with public accounts; private accounts remain inaccessible. Benefits: - Privacy-Friendly: Watch any Instagram content without being noticed. - Simple and Easy: No app installation or registration required. - Exclusive Tools: Download and manage content in ways Instagram doesn’t offer.
