This one had to be told!
It’s been one month since our documentary Kavaru was released, and one year since we shot it.
Last year began with a lot of uncertainty and very little productivity—by April 2025, I found myself with nothing to do, feeling anxious about finding work. What began as a way to kill boredom soon turned into something far more ambitious, especially when Syam Pushkaran watched our first cut and agreed to collaborate.
Looking back today, we are left with regrets—could’ve rented one more camera, or added lights for the indoor shots. But that's okay.
Multiple milestones crossed along the way—when @lijo_lebowski made that call, when we held our preview screening, and when people finally started talking about the Kumbalangi issue.
Thank you @yedhu_kc for standing by my side for an entire year. This wouldn’t have been possible without you.
Constant support @varrsha._ for that striking idea of a documentary possibility, and @iam_subinsuresh for always being there.
To the team—
@ki_d95 @sidhudas_ @shyamcshaji @audiophile_19 @sreenathism @maadhuutty thank you for your incredible collaboration.
A documentary was never in our wildest dreams but here we are. Maybe this story was always meant to be told.✨♥️

Kavaru : The Prince Of Glow.
Kavaru starts with the search for the glow in Kumbalangi and slowly looks at the people and place around it and shows how increased attention can affect a fragile ecosystem.
Akhil Devan keeps the storytelling simple and clear.
It connects the beauty of the phenomenon with the need to protect it.

Echoes of a Glow ✨
Kavaru begins with a simple curiosity, of a few friends travelling to Kumbalangi to experience the mysterious glow in its backwaters, a phenomenon many came to know through Kumbalangi Nights, almost as if picking up from where the film left us.
The place, now widely recognized because of the film, carries that visibility with a quiet warmth. The people speak of it with pride, and in subtle ways, cinema has already blended into reality here.
Kumbalangi’s Kavaru, a bioluminescence phenomenon where microorganisms emit a blue glow when disturbed, feels magical, almost unreal.
But just when we expect the documentary to linger on this visual wonder, Akhil Devan and his team gently shift the lens, towards people, their lives, and the fragile ecosystem they are part of. What unfolds is not just the story of a glow, but the price it quietly carries.
What seems like wonder is, in truth, a living, breathing habitat, one that holds stories often overlooked. The documentary reflects how increasing attention, when met without care, can begin to disturb the very balance that sustains both the place and its people.
It becomes clear that this is not merely a phenomenon to be witnessed casually, but one that calls for awareness and responsibility, from those who visit, and those who call it home.
The documentary beautifully captures the charm of Kumbalangi while carrying an undercurrent of urgency. There’s also something poetic about this full circle, Bhavana Studios, who gave us Kumbalangi Nights, return 7 years later to the same land to reflect on what it has since become.
And somewhere between its beauty and its fragility, the documentary quietly asks us to look closer.
An eye-opening watch, now on @bhavanastudios YouTube.

The Instagram Story Viewer is an easy tool that lets you secretly watch and save Instagram stories, videos, photos, or IGTV. With this service, you can download content and enjoy it offline whenever you like. If you find something interesting on Instagram that you’d like to check out later or want to view stories while staying anonymous, our Viewer is perfect for you. Anonstories offers an excellent solution for keeping your identity hidden. Instagram first launched the Stories feature in August 2023, which was quickly adopted by other platforms due to its engaging, time-sensitive format. Stories let users share quick updates, whether photos, videos, or selfies, enhanced with text, emojis, or filters, and are visible for only 24 hours. This limited time frame creates high engagement compared to regular posts. In today’s world, Stories are one of the most popular ways to connect and communicate on social media. However, when you view a Story, the creator can see your name in their viewer list, which may be a privacy concern. What if you wish to browse Stories without being noticed? Here’s where Anonstories becomes useful. It allows you to watch public Instagram content without revealing your identity. Simply enter the username of the profile you’re curious about, and the tool will display their latest Stories. Features of Anonstories Viewer: - Anonymous Browsing: Watch Stories without showing up on the viewer list. - No Account Needed: View public content without signing up for an Instagram account. - Content Download: Save any Stories content directly to your device for offline use. - View Highlights: Access Instagram Highlights, even beyond the 24-hour window. - Repost Monitoring: Track the reposts or engagement levels on Stories for personal profiles. Limitations: - This tool works only with public accounts; private accounts remain inaccessible. Benefits: - Privacy-Friendly: Watch any Instagram content without being noticed. - Simple and Easy: No app installation or registration required. - Exclusive Tools: Download and manage content in ways Instagram doesn’t offer.
