We’ve been waiting to share this one for some time now, co-written in tranquil nature at @idyllwildsongfest retreat and recorded near America’s longest freeway at L.A.’s Precarious Rock Studios. We hope it becomes your new theme song for the season.

For the first time, I was in a group of four instead of three—meaning a lot more musical opinions! We realized there wasn’t really a “wrong way” to go, so instead of making one song together, we decided to spend two hours on each of our individual songs, with each person taking the lead in turn and everyone else helping. By the end of the night, we had four incredible songs, each with its own vibe and energy. Alan’s song about a lifetime of traveling for music, feeling “Everywhere but nowhere,” had me in tears like I haven’t been in a long time.

Those of you who know me know I don’t post very often with my “old school behind the scenes” ways in the modern world of social media and self-promotion as the everyday norm. But this time I am especially proud of an achievement I have worked long and hard for that I want to sharewith friends and people in my universe. And although I know there have been other posts about it already and some of you reading this may know about it, but for those who don’t my bonkers song “Cleopatra” which I co-wrote at Las Negras Camp in Spainlast year with Luuk Van Beers and Sarah Lake is the entry in Eurovision for Azerbaijan !!! I have long been an “American with a Eurovision Dream” and have come close before, but this is dream come true time !! And it means a lot to me whatever you may think of Eurovision. It’sa HUGE annual party and event I have longed to be part of... and now I finally am !!! Wish me luck !!! And as it takes place in Rotterdam, Holland in May and with the current global meltdown aka Coronavirus, I am just hoping come May 12th Eurovision will not have been postponed or canceled, and the travel ban lifted that will allow me to be there in person. And it will be streamed here in the USA for the first time in Netflix after the event. Wish me luck !!! And in any case, go Azerbaijan !!!
