I don't leave the house often so I turned my living room into a Wonderland ♥️♠️♦️♣️

Unfortunately I let the quarantine blues get to me and for a long time I thought avoiding my passion would help to ease some of that pressure to always be on track. LOL NAH I guess relaxing isn't my thing cos I'm now back to working on multiple projects and it feels so so good to be creative again <3

There was a girl sitting in the makeup chair next to me. Without makeup on, she looked barely seventeen. She aplogised for the few blemishes on her face and the glam team assured her "Don't worry. We'll make you beautiful."

I tried not to eavesdrop on their conversations about her life as a young model, but the words "pills and cigarettes" seemed to echo across the room.

When her hair and makeup were finally done, I could no longer recognise her. She was more perfect now than ever, but all the things that I saw as beautiful had been erased and replaced. So many of us dream of a life like this. But the life of glamour is just smoke and mirrors, it all washes off eventually. That's the nature of the job, I always knew it. And yet, I would never trade this life for anything else. Am I wrong for loving my job?

They say all artworks are self portraits. But here I am, telling her story. Her experiences are not mine but maybe the stories that resonate with us the most are the ones where we can see ourselves in.

Obligatory birthday post! My gift to myself this year is finally finishing this drawing I started months ago.

Alice Through the Looking Glass was one of my least favorite movies. No it wasn't released this year, but I thought about it this year. It hurt my feelings and thats what inspired my painting. And yes. My girl ended up looking slightly more like Bella Swan than Alice: a reference to how that movie didn't resemble the book at all.
