Apologies for the use of Instagram as a shameless boasting tool, and to show balance I should begin by saying how challenging the film festival circuit has been for us. For anyone to appreciate and take on an ambitious 30 minute film in the short film category is a massive leap of faith, so we were all completely over the moon to find out that we’ve just been selected for this year’s Academy Award® Qualifying Indy Shorts International Film Festival in Indianapolis!

I want to dedicate this selection to Mary Withall who sadly passed away last week. It was her who inspired this film in many ways. Mary is my wife’s gran and introduced us to the incredible Easdale island. Without her this project was an impossibility, along with everyone else that she introduced us to on the island. Mary was one of my favourite people in the world and will be hugely missed, not just by her friends and family but by an entire island!

This one was a journey, a film made with love by people across the world to create something we’d never seen before. We shot this in London & Latvia, with the brilliant team @led_unit at their VP studio in Riga.

Very proud of this one. We made this promo for @biffy_clyro during a heatwave back in August. Shout out to Luke Moran-Morris and Matter SFX for making it rain but not flooding the studio 🙏

Simon & Jasmine only had two days in rehearsals before being on a very wet set and it’s testament to both of them, choreographer Steven Hoggett & director Joe Conner that the video turned out to be such a beaut.
