„Die Grundfrage ist und bleibt: Was ist ein Bild, was ist ein gutes gutes Bild?“
Anna Leonhardt, Malwut
„The fundamental question is and remains: What makes a painting truly good?“
ANNA LEONHARDT (b. 1981, lives in New York and Berlin) defines the four corners of the canvas as a compositional framework within which she develops chromatic fields of tension. Color blocks and backgrounds are established, discarded, and re-explored until the coloristic relationships between the surface and the almost three-dimensional color structures unfold their own rhythm.

MALWUT is an exhibition featuring nine very different female painters at the Brandenburgischer Kunstverein in Potsdam. Founded by Anna Steinert and Anna Leonhardt in late 2025, the collective creates visibility for female artists outside the traditional economic structures and hierarchies of the art world. In a system that still grants female painters less presence than male painters, the project carves out new shared space for action. The name MALWUT is both a declaration of combat and an ironic role-playing game. On the one hand, the biographies of female painters are less linear, and their work is still, on average, less well-compensated than that of their male colleagues. On the other hand, emotions and physically conveyed impulsiveness are also historical attributions with which male art criticism has explained (or devalued) female painting. At the same time, however, the term plays on subjective qualities that can be discerned in the presented paintings. The initiators emphasize the risk-taking nature of the paintings on display. The images do not hide traces of the working process. Surfaces are exposed, and the works are conceived as a deliberate “affront” to a smoothed-out digital world. Here, painting is also an act of fury against calculated product qualities and easily consumable images.
The show is on view @bkvpotsdam until April 26

Thank you everybody for coming to the opening of @anna.leonhardt exhibition last weekend. We talk with the artist to get to know her ideas and approach deeper.
Come visit the show and see the works in person !

The biggest piece in this exhibition challenges @anna.leonhardt signature technique. The broad and smoothly applied layers of paint, physically melted and pushed to the artist‘s satisfaction. The size of the painting envelops the audience in the deliberate pairings of colors, each creating a resonance and dissonance with a difference glance and different angle.

15-Year Anniversary Exhibition
Curated by David Ebony
January 17 - February 28, 2026
Marc Straus Gallery

I am truly grateful to be part of this exhibition along with so many great artists from all over the world.
I first came to New York City 10 years ago, in January 2016. Marc offered me a studio across the street from the gallery and said, “Why don’t you come visit us, I’d love to see more, you can pay rent with paintings.” I booked a flight and landed in the middle of a snowstorm a few weeks later. It was freezing cold, but as soon as I climbed the stairs from the subway in Midtown, I knew this was the place I wanted to stay. I had never felt so connected before. I was radically open and just said yes to everything. Half-day painting, half-day exploring the city. I slept on a mattress in the kitchen of a friend’s ex-lover in New Jersey and took the bus to Port Authority very early in the morning and back late at night. In the middle of bustling Chinatown, in a studio where rats came visit, I simply did what I always wanted to do: paint. Far away from the place where I had grown up as an artist, I felt very free. A few weeks later, my first solo show opened on Grand Street. The rest is history...

The Instagram Story Viewer is an easy tool that lets you secretly watch and save Instagram stories, videos, photos, or IGTV. With this service, you can download content and enjoy it offline whenever you like. If you find something interesting on Instagram that you’d like to check out later or want to view stories while staying anonymous, our Viewer is perfect for you. Anonstories offers an excellent solution for keeping your identity hidden. Instagram first launched the Stories feature in August 2023, which was quickly adopted by other platforms due to its engaging, time-sensitive format. Stories let users share quick updates, whether photos, videos, or selfies, enhanced with text, emojis, or filters, and are visible for only 24 hours. This limited time frame creates high engagement compared to regular posts. In today’s world, Stories are one of the most popular ways to connect and communicate on social media. However, when you view a Story, the creator can see your name in their viewer list, which may be a privacy concern. What if you wish to browse Stories without being noticed? Here’s where Anonstories becomes useful. It allows you to watch public Instagram content without revealing your identity. Simply enter the username of the profile you’re curious about, and the tool will display their latest Stories. Features of Anonstories Viewer: - Anonymous Browsing: Watch Stories without showing up on the viewer list. - No Account Needed: View public content without signing up for an Instagram account. - Content Download: Save any Stories content directly to your device for offline use. - View Highlights: Access Instagram Highlights, even beyond the 24-hour window. - Repost Monitoring: Track the reposts or engagement levels on Stories for personal profiles. Limitations: - This tool works only with public accounts; private accounts remain inaccessible. Benefits: - Privacy-Friendly: Watch any Instagram content without being noticed. - Simple and Easy: No app installation or registration required. - Exclusive Tools: Download and manage content in ways Instagram doesn’t offer.
