From Succession to the Marvel Cinematic Universe @ArianMoayed has perfected modern villainy. But as the founder of #WaterwellTheatre (@waterwell_org) the Iranian actor is also an activist for social justice, and a storyteller of sometimes other inconvenient truths. (Post 2) For the past few weeks, we worked with "This American Life" to collect voice memos from people across Iran during the war and regime-imposed internet blackout, which the UN human rights office has called “one of the longest and most severe shutdowns ever recorded globally.”
Through these voices, we hope to offer glimpses into daily life in Iran - the fears, hopes and humanity that persist behind the digital darkness.
The audio episode introduces a language teacher in love with a pro-regime colleague; a doctor who treated survivors of the January massacre, now helping a child suffering a wartime panic attack; and an engineer forced to compromise his values for state-approved internet just to keep his business alive.
We're deeply grateful to the many Iranians who shared their stories with us - despite the dangers and difficulties.
And a heartfelt thank you to the extraordinary team @thisamerlife for the time, care and commitment they brought to sharing these voices — and to the actors, including @taragrammy, @arianmoayed, and @babaktafti, whose performances were so moving that at times we forgot the voices had been re-created.

As the Persian New Year approaches, Siavash + I hosted a Chaharshanbe Suri event at Masquerade and we were honored that Mayor Zohran Mamdani joined our pained Iranian community.
We had poetry, music, food, and stories of Iranians immigrants from all perspectives. We spoke about the devastation of 47 years of a theocratic dictatorship including the IRI-backed massacre of Jan 8+9. And we also spoke about the fear of Western powers bombing our homeland, just like they’ve done for generations.
And Mayor Mamdani listened to us.
He listened to Iranian-New Yorkers giving their perspectives of the tragedies happening there, as well as the ones happening here. In the Mayor’s closing remarks, he spoke to a fragile community with so much care and grace, and finished by saying, “Be omideh azadi” or “With the hope of freedom”.
Numerous Iranians and Iranian-New Yorkers spoke about how good it was to gather, and be heard, especially in a time when we need it most. In these times of pain, all we can do is get together and be with each other. That love is what will conquer hate.

The Instagram Story Viewer is an easy tool that lets you secretly watch and save Instagram stories, videos, photos, or IGTV. With this service, you can download content and enjoy it offline whenever you like. If you find something interesting on Instagram that you’d like to check out later or want to view stories while staying anonymous, our Viewer is perfect for you. Anonstories offers an excellent solution for keeping your identity hidden. Instagram first launched the Stories feature in August 2023, which was quickly adopted by other platforms due to its engaging, time-sensitive format. Stories let users share quick updates, whether photos, videos, or selfies, enhanced with text, emojis, or filters, and are visible for only 24 hours. This limited time frame creates high engagement compared to regular posts. In today’s world, Stories are one of the most popular ways to connect and communicate on social media. However, when you view a Story, the creator can see your name in their viewer list, which may be a privacy concern. What if you wish to browse Stories without being noticed? Here’s where Anonstories becomes useful. It allows you to watch public Instagram content without revealing your identity. Simply enter the username of the profile you’re curious about, and the tool will display their latest Stories. Features of Anonstories Viewer: - Anonymous Browsing: Watch Stories without showing up on the viewer list. - No Account Needed: View public content without signing up for an Instagram account. - Content Download: Save any Stories content directly to your device for offline use. - View Highlights: Access Instagram Highlights, even beyond the 24-hour window. - Repost Monitoring: Track the reposts or engagement levels on Stories for personal profiles. Limitations: - This tool works only with public accounts; private accounts remain inaccessible. Benefits: - Privacy-Friendly: Watch any Instagram content without being noticed. - Simple and Easy: No app installation or registration required. - Exclusive Tools: Download and manage content in ways Instagram doesn’t offer.
Keep track of Instagram updates discreetly while protecting your privacy and staying anonymous.
View profiles and photos anonymously with ease using the Private Profile Viewer.
This free tool allows you to view Instagram Stories anonymously, ensuring your activity remains hidden from the story uploader.
Anonstories lets users view Instagram stories without alerting the creator.
Works seamlessly on iOS, Android, Windows, macOS, and modern browsers like Chrome and Safari.
