Join us for a lively convo and gathering at SENSE OF PLACE.

On Sunday, May 31, Lila Allen (@lilerr), editor in chief of @wrong__house, will moderate a panel on how creative culture is taking shape beyond the confines of the city—and the ways the Hudson Valley provides an organizing armature for design practice. Panelists Amin Tadj (@amintadj), Joshua Vogel (@joshua_vogel_sculpture | @bcmtco), and Kristin Coleman (@available_items) will discuss the evolving relationship between regional identity, community, and contemporary design, as well as how the area’s landscape has informed their perspectives.

The talk be accompanied by a light reception and include time to wander the grounds and explore the exhibition featuring works by regional artists and designers.

See our stories or @available_items bio to RSVP and reserve your spot!

Big news! We're extending SENSE OF PLACE until June 29!

If you haven't had a chance to visit our project with @amintadj at Ohayo Mountain House, it's a wonderful place to commune with nature, be inspired by thoughtful, modern architecture and discover the immense talent in this region with over 70 works by local art and design studios.

If you’re out and about for Open Studios this weekend, add SENSE OF PLACE to your itinerary. It’s just down the road from Woodstock and open on Saturday from 11am to 5pm!

'Security Check' by Kingston artist Lauren Hirsch (@bee_layer).

Finding beauty in the details we usually overlook, Hirsch developed this series of wall collages from the patterned interiors of security mailing envelopes. They are graphic, tactile and delightful and we have two variations in the shop!

SENSE OF PLACE | Meet the Artists

Though working in different mediums, Michael McGrath and Ori Carlin share a fascination with folklore.

@m.r.mcgrath’s paintings are inspired by mythology and the cults of mysticism through the lens of naivety and Hudson Valley landscapes while @oricarlin’s latest body of ceramic works are named after an animated, anthropomorphic being from Jewish folklore.

Come experience their work at Ohayo Mountain House. SENSE OF PLACE is open on Saturdays from 11am-5pm at 760 Ohayo Mountain Road in Glenford, NY (near Woodstock).

Adrian Madlener's solo show, 'Structural Splinter', is now on view through June 7.

A Belgian-born, New York-based artist, writer, and trained designer, Madlener translates his continued exposure to various expressions of visual culture into richly detailed, abstract drawings using pencil, ink, and paint pen.

Each work is intricate, layered, vibrant, and painterly; and best enjoyed in person. 🧡

SENSE OF PLACE | Meet the Artists

April Johnson, Kat Howard, and Jake Coan all have a gift for designing with nature.

April Johnson (@flowerpsychos) is a longtime stylist, design consultant, and founder of the fashion label Alasdair. She switched lanes during the pandemic, fell in love with the unlimited possibilities of botanicals, and her project flowerpsycho was born. Using unexpected materials to create non-traditional compositions, she captures the poetry of nature in all of its chaotic beauty.

Kat Howard (@kat_howard) makes fiber art that addresses the history of the persecution of women, through which she interrogates her own identity as a survivor of abuse and sexual violence. She uses abstraction, the innate emotional language of texture, and the repulsion/attraction of touch in her visual work to capture the fight to break free from trauma. Her material choices are integral to her tactile artistic concept—ranging from silkworm cocoons and merino wool roving to handspun yarn, raw cotton, leather, and muslin.

Jake Coan (@jakecoan) grew up in the Hudson Valley as the son of an architect and a potter. After studying Studio Art at Bard College and teaching engineering at the Brooklyn Robot Foundry, he has since channeled his curiosity for luminescence, vibration, and shape into designing one-of- a-kind art and light fixtures in his whimsical Berkshires studio. Coan’s influences include Issey Miyake, Isamu Noguchi, and Ingo Maurer, but more importantly: plants, rocks, and light.

Experience the full beauty of their work at Ohayo Mountain House. The exhibition is open every Saturday from 11am to 5pm (and by appointment) until May 31.

View Instagram Stories in Secret

The Instagram Story Viewer is an easy tool that lets you secretly watch and save Instagram stories, videos, photos, or IGTV. With this service, you can download content and enjoy it offline whenever you like. If you find something interesting on Instagram that you’d like to check out later or want to view stories while staying anonymous, our Viewer is perfect for you. Anonstories offers an excellent solution for keeping your identity hidden. Instagram first launched the Stories feature in August 2023, which was quickly adopted by other platforms due to its engaging, time-sensitive format. Stories let users share quick updates, whether photos, videos, or selfies, enhanced with text, emojis, or filters, and are visible for only 24 hours. This limited time frame creates high engagement compared to regular posts. In today’s world, Stories are one of the most popular ways to connect and communicate on social media. However, when you view a Story, the creator can see your name in their viewer list, which may be a privacy concern. What if you wish to browse Stories without being noticed? Here’s where Anonstories becomes useful. It allows you to watch public Instagram content without revealing your identity. Simply enter the username of the profile you’re curious about, and the tool will display their latest Stories. Features of Anonstories Viewer: - Anonymous Browsing: Watch Stories without showing up on the viewer list. - No Account Needed: View public content without signing up for an Instagram account. - Content Download: Save any Stories content directly to your device for offline use. - View Highlights: Access Instagram Highlights, even beyond the 24-hour window. - Repost Monitoring: Track the reposts or engagement levels on Stories for personal profiles. Limitations: - This tool works only with public accounts; private accounts remain inaccessible. Benefits: - Privacy-Friendly: Watch any Instagram content without being noticed. - Simple and Easy: No app installation or registration required. - Exclusive Tools: Download and manage content in ways Instagram doesn’t offer.
