“Solomon” was written through the 20/20 lens of hindsight.

King Solomon was renowned for his wisdom, and there’s an old saying: a smart man learns from his mistakes, but a wise man learns from the mistakes of others.
I should’ve known better. I should’ve recognized the signs. I should’ve learned from the patterns I watched play out around me instead of convincing myself my story would end differently.

Now all that’s left is to hope the pain gave me perspective to exercise discernment in the future.

Sad news this morning. I was so lucky to spend a lot of time with Q in my early 20s on his Global Gumbo tours with @officialnikkiy. He had a way of making you feel like you were the only person in the room when he was talking to you; yet he also made sure the whole tour family was included in the hang. The man was in his early 80s at the time (!!) and he still had boundless energy to share stories, advice, and company, from huge festival stages to after parties, jams, and the odd random hookah bar in Toronto that stayed open after hours for us. Calling him one of the greatest record producers of all time doesn’t do him justice. One of the greatest *people* ever to do it. Rest in peace, Q, thank you for everything.
