We honestly can’t believe it. Two Sleepy People just became the #1 independent film in the country, because of all of you.

This kind of thing never happens to artists just breaking in. To films without any studio backing or major distribution deals.

@creatorcamp is a small team of 5 working around the clock to spread the belief that the internet is capable of changing the film industry for good.

We grew up in a generation where anyone could pick up a camera and tell a story that moved thousands. We we’re told to “do what you can’t” (@caseyneistat).

And just 8 months ago, we had no idea how to get into theaters or market a movie.

BUT NOW… @twosleepymovie is #8 at the domestic box office for all self-distributed films in history (according to The Numbers).

And you guys did this during a literal snowstorm, which is honestly insaneee.

But, opening weekend was just the beginning.

Even though, we just got extended another week at @drafthouse, @regalmovies, @cinemark, @starcinemagrill, & @evocinemas across North America…

One slow week and we’re out. They need those seats and the big studios are always waiting.

@twosleepymovie opened last Thursday. And, as of yesterday…

We are the top grossing film in the country this week without any major studio backing OR major distributor - just the power of the internet and community.

Thank you guys, this is insane.

Because of this success, we’re now expanding and will have another whole week of showtimes in major cities (NYC, Chicago, Boston, Austin, Houston, SF, etc..). We’re getting more news back from theaters today and tomorrow about expansion so stay tuned!

This is the story of two strangers who, after taking a new line of melatonin gummies, get stuck in the same lucid dream every single night.

Things start to get a bit complicated though as… Syd is married in the real world.

It’s a heartfelt story about love and identity that made 5 couples break up after the first premiere (seriously).

And, after being written in just 12 days by @americanbaron & @caroline_konstnar, it’s a movie project completely born from the internet. Made with a small cast and crew of creators.

The is the first movie with over 20,000 people in the credits, all of which were normal people just wanting to support original, indie films.

The internet is changing. It started changing the day the first YouTube video was uploaded. It went from sketches, to dances, to short films. And no matter how much it has evolved, some people still believe this is not a space for real creation. But the truth is that many of the best filmmakers, editors, artists, and animators will come from watching a reel, a TikTok, or a YouTube video. You start to realize this when you enjoy the video your favorite creator uploaded more than the movie you just watched in a theater. For me, that moment came when my mom told me that movies in cinemas were not like they used to be. Maybe what we should explain is that the possibilities are now immense, and that you can make a movie from your room with a group of friends. And that already happened. On January 23rd, you can go watch Two Sleepy People, a movie made by internet creators who never believed cinema belonged to the biggest studios, but to the people who enjoy it, cherish it, and keep it alive.
