With a riff-based groove perfect for your next high-speed car chase, “Compromised Blues” showcases Troy Mercy’s Power Duo guitar & drums band formation featuring drummer Harrison Foti. “To me this type of guitar is an extension of bluesmen like John Lee Hooker or Eddie Taylor. Simultaneous rhythm/lead, always with a dangerous edge. Always like one’s life depends on it” says the ace guitarist of Booker T. and Fabulous Thunderbirds fame.

For "A Place Of Our Own," Troy Mercy sets down his guitar flamethrower featured in his debut song "Traveling Light" and instead lays down some first-rate soul licks honed during his years spent touring with Booker T Jones. "It's those tales of ordinary madness that sneak up on us. You know, that daily pressure builds slowly," muses Mercy as he describes the feelings fueling this softly-orchestrated tune. "As your doctor, I'm prescribing listening to 'A Place Of Our Own' as needed and singing along to the Na-Na bits quite loudly indeed." Drummer & Producer Tim Carman of Parlor Greens and Marty Ballou on bass are the head-bobbing support behind Troy's soulful vocals and guitar riffs.
