Starting on Friday with an instore gig at @hhvrecords. I was happy to meet a lot of familiar and new faces. There was a lot of music on vinyl and plenty of good conversation. Many members of the @dustydonuts45s were there too and my brother @dj_robert_smith even did an exclusive Oonops Drops 45s-set. Be sure to check this space for his whole set on video very soon.

On the next day we went to Leipzig to the friends of @backstein_west. It's a place I can no longer imagine being without for me as a DJ and my artists, and which is run with a lot of love. We kept the records playing late into the night and there was a lot of dancing going on.

Eigentlich schon überwältigend genug, kommts jetzt nochmal fetter. Am 23. Mai heißen wir sie dann im Backstein West willkommen. Mit einem anderen Set, womit Ihr euch einfach mal überraschen lassen könnt. Und wenn eigentlich fett genug, gibts noch einen drauf. Keine geringeren DJs als RAINER TRÜBY (Compost Records, Freiburg) und MARLOW (Sonar Kollektiv begleiten Euch vor und nach dem Konzert durch den Abend und über den Floor. Da wir in erster Linie Konzerte für den Spaß an der Freude veranstalten, scheuen wir keine Kosten und Mühen, das erste Konzert unter freiem Himmel auf der offenen Wiese zu veranstalten. Das Jazz-Trio NAUTILUS, den ein oder anderen noch bekannt von einem unvergesslichen Konzert Sommer 2024 im Garten der GFZK ist wieder auf Tour und wird in Leipzig gleich zwei Konzerte spielen. Das Trio um die Pianistin MARIKO NAKABAYASHI, dem Bassisten SHIGEKI UMEZAWA und dem Schlagzeuger und Gründer TOSHIYUKI SASAKI werden mittlerweile weltweit für Ihre Interpretationen von Jazz und Hip Hop Klassikern gefeiert.

Am 22. Mai präsentieren sie ihr neues Album SUNKEN SCORES, am Backstein Zentrum, im Garten der GFZK, was vom umtriebigen DJ und Labelowner OONOPS auf seinem gleichnamigen Label im Mai veröffentlicht wurde. Der sorgt auch für das nötige Warm Up.
