Bands like The Vaselines, @thefeeliesnj Television Personalities @television.personalities , @galaxie500 Nikki Sudden, Beat Happening, Felt, Replacements & Teardrop Explodes. So many great bands! A few songs on Manic Excessive was inspired by this sound. So, lo fi but so beautiful and charming. It encapsulates a time in music that was rough and around and the edges “not fiddled with” but also so innocent and beautiful at the same time. We only covered a few songs in 25 years. I always felt we were just “too weird” for covers. I found them so insanely difficult to do. This one song took me weeks to memorize the words (and its easy to play!). We would often cover Spacemen 3 at practice to warm up and sometimes tossed it in end of the set in the early days of the band! Enjoy!
