the film follows a rag-tag bunch of snake-hunters as they take part in an annual contest to exterminate an invasive species of python. what begins as an exercise in 'conservation' quickly becomes an examination of the Floridian psyche and the money-driven bloodlust that exists in American society

before the feature we will show xander's short LANCE LIZARDI, a beautiful character study that speaks to the line between obsession and identity

highly recommended for fans of lance oppenheim's work, HBO's neighbors and that one bit from the Simpsons with Barry White

Present your project during Docs Ireland 2026 to receive feedback from a panel of leading Irish film industry players, and be in for a chance of receiving up to £9,000 towards a pilot for a documentary feature.

Shortlisted projects will be announced on Friday 29th May, and the winner will be selected and announced on the closing night of Docs Ireland. This project is in association with Yellowmoon Post Production.

The deadline for applications to the Docs Ireland Marketplace 2026 has been extended to Friday 24th April, at 5pm!

At the marketplace, we will be welcoming leading industry professionals who will meet with filmmakers one-to-one, providing an opportunity for creatives to pitch their project to international funders, distributors and exhibitors. As the only dedicated documentary marketplace on the island of Ireland, filmmakers can expect to meet representatives from organisations like ARTE France, Met Film, Lightbox, RTÉ and many more.

We are also delighted to share that we are partnering for a second year with the Jacob Burns Film Center in New York, who will award one marketplace project a creative residency spanning 2 - 4 weeks!

The Northern Ireland Screen Pitch is back! @DocsIreland & @northernirelandscreen, in association with @yellowmoonpost, are offering a chance for new and emerging documentary makers to receive an award of up to £9,000 towards a pilot for a documentary feature. Now in its 8th year, the Northern Ireland Screen Pitch has ushered a wealth of non-fiction talent through the process of developing their feature documentaries including the recently BAFTA nominated documentary A Want In Her by Myrid Carten (Pitch Winner 2019).

Shortlisted filmmakers will present their projects on Saturday 20 June as part of Docs Ireland 2026, where they will receive feedback from a panel of leading Irish film industry players. The winner will be announced at the closing night of the Docs Ireland festival (Sunday 21st June).
