Lee “Scratch” Perry & Mouse On Mars / Spatial, No Problem. / The new album out 5 June

After the passing of Lee “Scratch” Perry, a deluge of recordings appeared claiming to be the “last” or “final” project of the Jamaican icon. However, his last official album project took him to Berlin, Germany where he landed on the doorstep of electronic pioneers Mouse on Mars.

The first cut, ‘Rockcurry’, is out everywhere now.

Following the motorik-infused soundworld of first cut, ‘Rockcurry’, the instrumentation on ‘To The Rescue’ has a carefree and meditative quality whilst retaining a preciseness that holds it all together. Lee didn’t want to make a reggae album whilst in Berlin with Mouse on Mars, however, his freeform lyrics on ‘To The Rescue’ call back to his work with Bob Marley & The Wailers on Soul Revolution Part II’s ‘Sun Is Shining’.

Following the motorik-infused soundworld of first cut, ‘Rockcurry’, the instrumentation on ‘To The Rescue’ has a carefree and meditative quality whilst retaining a preciseness that holds it all together.
