A year ago, my partner @timwes and I opened the doors to @dekunstfabriek.699 in Rotterdam. A space we envisioned creating for quite some time. As with every project we take on, we poured our everything into it, knowing how vital it is to hold and curate a place where we can connect, learn, inspire, share knowledge and perspectives, and collectively grow. It was all a dream. And none of it could have become reality without the incredible people around us. You know who you are. Cemented in the DNA of this ecosystem, imprinted in our hearts.

New chapter. Full circle. Almost a year ago we were selected as co-curators of the new exhibition "Spiritual Urgency" at @stedelijk.museum.schiedam. Bringing newness to the nowness by creating redefined blueprints, re-imagining existing structures and bridging gaps between cultural institutions, modern day creators and legends. Born and raised in Schiedam, I used to butterfly around this museum as a young kid. If somebody would step up to me 15 years ago to tell me our work would be displayed between these walls and we’d be running the full campaign I would probably say something by the likes of "impossible." But nothing is. So this one is for the twelve year old me and all young dreamers out there. The future is already here, it’s (y)ours. Spiritual Urgency is on view from 26 November 2022 til 10 April 2023. ❤️

Through the lens of a part of me you don’t see that often anymore, but we still activate from time to time. Here’s to never forgetting what ignited the engine. Forever grateful for the foundation. My passion enabled me to travel the world, connect communities, meet inspiring individuals, unlock parts of me I didn’t know existed and engineer how I want to live this journey.
In all fairness, the discipline gets tested every single day. Sometimes we win, other times we learn. But we evolve, consistently challenge our status quo, stay true to ourselves no matter the weather and keep moving forward in grace and harmony.
I recently re-quoted a friend that inspires me a lot. He said: “my goal this year is to stop playing with my potential.” Even though I’ve been grinding harder than ever, I needed to hear that. It’s time to enter the beginning of a new season. The Harvest.
I’m posting these photos from one of my favorite moments of the year • our annual @join.thefunction activity • only to remind myself what the power of unity is. For those who’ve been following the journey, know I move silently across facets and been shaping a multitude of worlds throughout the years, but this is where it all began for me. For that I thank God, and thank you for sticking with me. I love you x

A year ago, I began leading the management and business branch of @marloufernanda. This new project, her first solo exhibition with a duration of six months, became a space where I could pour my knowledge as we navigated new terrain together. This journey humbled us, made us feel, strengthened our ties, and blessed us with new insights: Walking in certainty, through the path of the unknown.
Marlou, I have the strongest faith in you. You’re an exceptional human being, with a life force that is powerful and inspiring to witness. Seeing someone grow personally, creatively, and professionally is the greatest reward.

When @marloufernanda asked me to direct the campaign for her first big solo exhibition, I said yes without hesitation. I’ve seen her grow from creating Nu-Nu a decade ago to this moment — we sharpened each other, challenged each other, and she helped shape the artist I am today.
You can be great and still be insecure.
You can be strong and still doubt yourself.
I’m thankful God is not just the God of my greatness, but also the God of my weakness.
