🌋 My first chapbook of poems, the form that has helped me find a way to speak about the grief and possibility in this moment, the ribbons of hope folded into the depths of ache as we keep on keeping on.
📝 “Pompeii is a trans-temporal passage, a portal rooted in the natural catastrophe that brought destruction, preservation, and re-generation all at once. In such an in-between state, Pompeii escapes dualisms, many worlds coexist, and Russell’s approach to the digital space as a world-building dimension strongly resonates. Language, in Russell’s hands, becomes a tool not just for reflection but for advancement. It shakes the world awake. It makes space for new ones. Her work embodies the notion that we can interrogate societal constructs through imagination and foster new modes of understanding. This philosophy resonates with the ancient Pompeian practice of using public inscriptions to assert presence, share thoughts, express feelings, and influence communal narratives.” —Stella Bottai (@stellabottai)

Leadership, at its core, is about service—and I’m proud to share that I’ve been selected to join the Leaders USA cohort as part of the @obamafoundation#ObamaLeaders 2025-2026 program.
Over the coming months, I’ll be learning alongside a truly inspiring group of emerging leaders—people who are challenging systems, elevating communities, and reimagining what’s possible.
I believe deeply in the power of local action and collective leadership, and I’m honored to bring my work and my voice to this table.

It was such a pleasure to host Legacy Russell @ellerustle at the annual Otto Wagner Lecture organised by the Institute for Art and Architecture. As professors of the Gender & Space Studio @petrahlavackova321 and @nicole__sabella we were lucky to moderate the event together with our amazing students. Diving into the Black Meme book was an enriching experience, especially when it comes to topics like the impact of Blackness, Black life, and Black social death on contemporary conceptions of virality, critical whiteness or white institutions. And to discuss all this in relation to accessibility and inclusive spaces. Thank you, Legacy for your important work 🩷

🌌 The Art + Tech x Cosmos = programme continues until May, with concerts, talks, exhibitions and performances at the School of Arts. #legacyrussell

🪩Celebrating my friend @edyanganiose who has made history @macba_barcelona with her exhibition “Project a Black Planet: The Art and Culture of Panafrica” on view for just a few more weeks.
📌This show does such necessary work to bring together a Panafrican visual culture and track a lineage that quite literally has transformed the world. What a breathtaking and groundbreaking contribution, an example of where rigor in scholarship and real and true learning and engagement at every level can be perfectly entangled. This exhibition as you move through each room builds on its ideas and thesis so gorgeously, its artists remapping and reimagining Black space in quantum registers. How I gasped and cheered!
✨What a privilege it continues to be to learn from, and be in exchange with you, sister Elvira.
📸Beginning with a transport into this gorgeous exhibitionbut swipe to see a recent snap following a beautiful symposium @fundaciomiro with friends old and new, and in the final image myself and Elvira in discussion @macba_barcelona in spring 2023 when I went to Barcelona as part of my @ccl_curators fellowship and got to follow Elvira around for a week 🥰 We ended up doing a fantastic talk together and every word she and I spoke I could feel Ernie moving around and listening from my belly ♾️

@prattinstitute School of Liberal Arts and Sciences and the Cultural Research & Practice Lab, founded by myself and @daliazjoon are honored to invite you to BLACK MEME, a lecture by 2026 SLAS Scholar-in-Residence, Legacy Russell ✨
This talk is open to the public. Please register at the link in bio.
Legacy Russell is a curator and writer. Born and raised in New York City, she is the Executive Director & Chief Curator of the experimental arts institution The Kitchen. Her academic, curatorial, and creative work focuses on gender, performance, digital selfdom, internet idolatry, and new media ritual. She is the award-winning author of the groundbreaking Glitch Feminism: A Manifesto (Verso Books, 2020) and her critically acclaimed second book BLACK MEME (Verso Books, 2024) which was shortlisted for the 2024 The National Book Critics Circle Award.
In BLACK MEME, Legacy Russell explores the “meme” as mapped to Black visual culture from 1900 to the present, mining both archival and contemporary media.
Russell argues that without the contributions of Black people, digital culture would not exist in its current form. These meditations include the circulation of lynching postcards; why a mother allowed JET magazine to publish a picture of her dead son, Emmett Till; and how the televised broadcast of protesters in Selma changed the debate on civil rights. Questions of the media representation of Blackness come to the fore as Russell considers how citizen-recorded footage of the LAPD beating Rodney King became the first viral video. Why the Anita Hill hearings shed light on the media’s creation of the Black icon. The ownership of Black imagery and death is considered in the story of Tamara Lanier’s fight to reclaim the daguerreotypes of her enslaved ancestors from Harvard. Meanwhile the live broadcast on Facebook of the murder of Philando Castile by the police after he was stopped for a broken taillight forces us to bear witness to the persistent legacy of the Black meme. Through imagery, memory, and technology, BLACK MEME shows us how images of Blackness have always been central to our understanding of the modern world.

The Instagram Story Viewer is an easy tool that lets you secretly watch and save Instagram stories, videos, photos, or IGTV. With this service, you can download content and enjoy it offline whenever you like. If you find something interesting on Instagram that you’d like to check out later or want to view stories while staying anonymous, our Viewer is perfect for you. Anonstories offers an excellent solution for keeping your identity hidden. Instagram first launched the Stories feature in August 2023, which was quickly adopted by other platforms due to its engaging, time-sensitive format. Stories let users share quick updates, whether photos, videos, or selfies, enhanced with text, emojis, or filters, and are visible for only 24 hours. This limited time frame creates high engagement compared to regular posts. In today’s world, Stories are one of the most popular ways to connect and communicate on social media. However, when you view a Story, the creator can see your name in their viewer list, which may be a privacy concern. What if you wish to browse Stories without being noticed? Here’s where Anonstories becomes useful. It allows you to watch public Instagram content without revealing your identity. Simply enter the username of the profile you’re curious about, and the tool will display their latest Stories. Features of Anonstories Viewer: - Anonymous Browsing: Watch Stories without showing up on the viewer list. - No Account Needed: View public content without signing up for an Instagram account. - Content Download: Save any Stories content directly to your device for offline use. - View Highlights: Access Instagram Highlights, even beyond the 24-hour window. - Repost Monitoring: Track the reposts or engagement levels on Stories for personal profiles. Limitations: - This tool works only with public accounts; private accounts remain inaccessible. Benefits: - Privacy-Friendly: Watch any Instagram content without being noticed. - Simple and Easy: No app installation or registration required. - Exclusive Tools: Download and manage content in ways Instagram doesn’t offer.
