okay here we have Round 1 — Large Groups @cost_n_mayor class @bdcnyc
but lemme give you context.

Like usual… we learned a combo and broke it into BIG groups to refine and perform. But since they were also SCOUTING 👀 for their upcoming show, the final round was groups of four && you slated your name, performed, and they filmed it.

I wanted to share both these videos because they feel so different. (Usually I don’t capture this shift because cameras don’t catch my most playful rounds.) This one felt playful & free.

You could feel the nerves in the room. (@cost_n_mayor you guys held this brilliantly with jokes and eased our nerves BUT everyone just reallllllly loves you and wants to impress you) everyone trying to rehearse and refine counts they just learned. But I love to challenge myself to stay present, lean into play & exploration, and even INTERACTION (@joshbordman thank youuuuu).

The stakes weren’t as high yet, which gave me room to explore.

All this to say, I just couldn’t choose one so I posted both lmao.

Round 2 — Final Groups @cost_n_mayor class @bdcnyc
andddd for context.

This final round the stakes were HIGH. (saying that is so funny bc dance is subjectively SO UNSERIOUS) Groups of four, names slated, filmed. The nerves were real.

This was partially bc it wasn’t just “end of class” they had producers in the room andwere scouting for their upcoming show (s/o @11tomidnight) Add in the fact that I absolutely love @cost_n_mayor (and was already nervous to perform for them), plus the looming audition stakes… yeah, my heart was in my throat.

Oh, and I had just slightly embarrassed myself during my slate 🤦🏼‍♀️ (which… they caught on camera and got to REPLAY but I will never share lol).

But pressure didn’t necessarily make me worse(sometimes I fear it does)… just different. The choices had to be clearer, bolder, more intentional. This round pushed me to sharpen while still holding onto what makes me me.

…All this to say, I just couldn’t choose one so I posted both lmao.
