What an utterly devastating loss to this world. I am heartbroken and at a loss for words. Michaela Mabinty DePrince. She inspired so many of us, her dedication and the passion she put in everything she did, is immensely honorable and admirable. The way she encouraged black dancers, myself included, to find their voice, be visible and speak up, is something I’ll always remember and cherish. She has been an inspiration throughout my whole professional education and career and still is to date.
My thoughts and deepest heartfelt condolences go out to her family and friends and every single person that was moved by her incredible story, her artistry and her love for dance. She’ll always be a reason why I continue to follow my dreams and believe in them! Michaela Mabinty, rest in power, rest in peace and fly 🕊️🤎🖤🤍
