Moments of internal transformation happen in the most unexpected of places, not just for audiences, but for filmmakers too. In Japan, it happened to me.

We are two brothers from Washington, DC. The past two decades making films together have been a roller coaster, filled with more highs and lows than we can count. These experiences have left us with more questions than answers.
The two of us are big on reflecting. It’s a core part of our process, and the way we navigate creative and ethical decisions, as well as our relationships, emotions and identities. We don’t get the opportunity to share and take stock of all the stories and discoveries collected along the way. That’s where our new @substack comes into play.
We hope to use this as a space to process together our personal journey as filmmakers and brothers navigating the world with our work. We are excited to share candid experiences and hope they can offer new insights. If nothing else, we hope to use this space to connect with people, and continue a lifelong practice of discussing, learning, and growing together.

In the weeks unfolding after Liat is kidnapped, her father resists efforts to use her captivity to justify escalating violence in Gaza, exposing political and emotional rifts within his family as they struggle to find a way to bring her home. Organize a screening of ‘Holding Liat’ on Kinema.
We are grateful for our French distributor L'Atelier D'Images, who is releasing HOLDING LIAT in more than 17 movie theaters across France this spring, including Paris, Cannes, Marseille, and Nice. In this interview with France 24, director Brandon Kramer discusses the process behind creating a story centered around the Beinin-Atzili family's experiences.

Congratulations to Parents Circle - Families Forum for their 2026 Nobel Peace Prize Nomination!
Over the past year, the HOLDING LIAT team has been honored to partner with the Parents Circle to engage audiences with PCFF's inspiring hope and belief in a more peaceful and just future.
The Parents Circle – Families Forum is a joint Israeli-Palestinian organization made up of more than 800 bereaved families, including Liat. Their common bond is that they have lost a close family member to the conflict. But instead of choosing revenge, they have chosen a path of reconciliation. This organization shares the human side of the Israeli-Palestinian conflict with the American public in order to foster a peace and reconciliation process.

Mark Ruffalo (@markruffalo) tells Congress: Our democracy requires artistic freedom. Ideological gatekeeping harms our country. The American public deserves platforms that present independent films like HOLDING LIAT and NO OTHER LAND, or else we face "irreparable harm to our country and our world if we are prohibited from telling the stories that teach us how to see each other with grace, love and humanity."
We stand with the audiences, industry workers, and local communities who rely on independent film.
Major shout-out to Future Film Coalition (@futurefilmcoalition) for making our voices heard.

The Instagram Story Viewer is an easy tool that lets you secretly watch and save Instagram stories, videos, photos, or IGTV. With this service, you can download content and enjoy it offline whenever you like. If you find something interesting on Instagram that you’d like to check out later or want to view stories while staying anonymous, our Viewer is perfect for you. Anonstories offers an excellent solution for keeping your identity hidden. Instagram first launched the Stories feature in August 2023, which was quickly adopted by other platforms due to its engaging, time-sensitive format. Stories let users share quick updates, whether photos, videos, or selfies, enhanced with text, emojis, or filters, and are visible for only 24 hours. This limited time frame creates high engagement compared to regular posts. In today’s world, Stories are one of the most popular ways to connect and communicate on social media. However, when you view a Story, the creator can see your name in their viewer list, which may be a privacy concern. What if you wish to browse Stories without being noticed? Here’s where Anonstories becomes useful. It allows you to watch public Instagram content without revealing your identity. Simply enter the username of the profile you’re curious about, and the tool will display their latest Stories. Features of Anonstories Viewer: - Anonymous Browsing: Watch Stories without showing up on the viewer list. - No Account Needed: View public content without signing up for an Instagram account. - Content Download: Save any Stories content directly to your device for offline use. - View Highlights: Access Instagram Highlights, even beyond the 24-hour window. - Repost Monitoring: Track the reposts or engagement levels on Stories for personal profiles. Limitations: - This tool works only with public accounts; private accounts remain inaccessible. Benefits: - Privacy-Friendly: Watch any Instagram content without being noticed. - Simple and Easy: No app installation or registration required. - Exclusive Tools: Download and manage content in ways Instagram doesn’t offer.
Keep track of Instagram updates discreetly while protecting your privacy and staying anonymous.
