Monday was my birthday yall 😝🤗♈️🐉🔥
33 was SOUL good to me until it wasn’t HA!
I didn’t think I was gon make it to see 34 the way the last few months were out to get meeee!

🐉 Through this healing journey, I couldn’t find my joy for a while. But even in my darkest hour, I held on to a hope I thought was gone. I’ve later come to realize my joy never left, it was within me the entire time.

🐉Khalil Gibran’s words speak on this feeling and my spirit wants to share it….

UPDATE: Still in recovery from my injury.

🪴🪴🪴🪴This season of my life has been one of the hardest I’ve had to walk through.
Injury forced me to slow down, sit in the dark, and rebuild in a way I never had to before.

It’s been a rocky road but I’ve come a long way and in a place where I feel called to encourage someone who has felt the same way I have.

Not all the way back, but I’m on my way and I’m hella proud of that.🪴🪴🪴🪴

🫶🏿Here’s my story from last week with an injury update. Many are asking when I’ll perform this season—it’s been hard to say dealing with an injury. I haven’t been able to bear full weight on relevé without it feeling like bone-on-wood for a while now. It’s frustrating and it’s been an emotional rollercoaster but some days better than others.
🫶🏿Learning a lot about patience, how to sit with FOMO, and a lot about my body which I’m thankful for. Blessed and grateful for the support from my artistic and my Ailey family, and for the subtle healing I’ve felt lately. I’m not in as much pain as before, which is a good sign of healing.
🫶🏿I can’t perform all the roles I was meant to this season, but so grateful of what my body is still capable of doing. For the next couple weeks, God willing,you can find me performing in Jazz Island, Treading, & Holy Blues 🥹🤞🏿🫶🏿#injuryupdate #alvinailey #citycenterseason
