I’m happy to say after nearly 2 years of not releasing anything I can present PullUpMachine 2, an evolution of the first version, with too many improvements to count. The main additions include an attack stage, a visualiser for the envelope, and a complete UI overhaul. I do hope you enjoy this one. The plugin is pretty much finished but I am releasing it as an open beta to iron out any bugs that may pop up.

my first bluetooth speaker project finally done. i need to think of name for it.
this project started in april 2024 as an idea to make a reggae-soundsystem inspired boombox. it stayed in a prototype stage for over a year, powering externally with a little class d amp.
I’ve finally had the time to turn it into an actually usable bluetooth speaker.
I saw a youtube video of someone using an ADAU1701 dsp chip as a crossover for his home speakers, so i got one to do the processing.
it had to be powered by drill batteries as well! good power, hot swappable, music all day.
I’ve certainly learnt a lot and i’m happy with it but it’s by no means perfect:
- it’s noisy (still not sure why, maybe passing audio signals right by noisy voltage regulators)
- The tweeters are full range so they can move a lot as the bass is pumping, so it struggles to reach the upper end of the spectrum (past 10k or so).
- I did some basic processing using REW: crossover, corrective eq, limiter. would like to experiment with different processing next time but not sure where to go next.
- no grilles. i’ve sort of committed now to no grilles so i’ve got to be careful! someone already put their foot in the woofer at the skatepark and i tried to fix it with a hoover but the dust cap is pretty hard plastic so it is what it is.
the overall sound is very warm and coloured, but i don’t mind this for listening speakers as opposed to monitoring speakers.
excited to build more speakers, maybe something bandpass.

* You now have to authorise your computer to use Amigo. Simply enter the serial number listed under ‘my account’
* File browser
* A new internal file browser lets you preview and load samples from inside Amigo.
* EMBED button
* The embed button saves the sample file into the project state, so you can send project files to friends without losing samples.
* Modulation section.
* The new MOD section allows for two types of modulation and two type of lfo: Vibrato or Tremolo, along with Square or Triangle waves.
* Sample rate improvements
* Amigo now loads samples in chunks, making it feel smoother when changing sample-rates.
* Equal slicing
* New Auto Slice feature allows you to split up the sample into equally divided slices.
* Phase bugs
* The phase effect would sometimes cause some clicking/popping, this is now fixed.
