Il y a quelques mois, nous avons commencé un accompagnement éditorial autour du livre Sutura de l’artiste sénégalais Souleymane Bachir Diaw — un travail traversé par des questions de valeurs culturelles et familiales, qui part de l’intime pour interroger notre relation au monde.

Lorsque la curatrice Nadine Hounkpatin a annoncé le thème du Prix Découverte Fondation Louis Roederer 2026 — « La meilleure façon de dire la vérité… » — nous avons proposé à l’artiste de répondre ensemble à l’appel à projets.

Et nous avons été sélectionné·es ✨✨

Grâce à notre partenaire de vie, Proimages, ainsi qu’à l’incroyable équipe du festival, nous avons pu produire ensemble une magnifique exposition, partie cette semaine pour son montage à Arles. L’aventure ne fait que commencer 🚀

Nous vous attendons nombreuses et nombreux à Arles, à l’Espace Monoprix, du 6 juillet au 4 octobre 2026, aux côtés des six autres finalistes du prix : Charlotte Yonga, Phan Quang, Amira Lamti, Jordan Beal, Mallory Lowe Mpoka et Magali Paulin.

Born in Senegal and based in France, Diaw explores masculinity as a space of tension between restraint and vulnerability, silence and expression. Through personal and family narratives, Sutura reflects on intergenerational transmission, gender roles, and the difficulty of expressing emotion. Draped in textiles charged with memory, the body becomes a site of repair, stitching tradition and modernity.

La.Ima. is an association created by Oleñka Carrasco and founded in 2023 with curator Ioana Mello, dedicated to experimenting, questioning, and creating images. L’exposition Celle qui reste Suite dure du 2 au 30 août 2025 à Arles. Merci Delphine Manjard pour l’invitation à l’atelier de la @librairiedupalais. Cette exposition est commissariée par @olenkacarrasco de @la.ima.art. Les tirages sont co-produits par le @centreclaudecahun, le @graphcmi et @lelieu.galerie du @reseaudiagonal. Merci à @smaguet et à Miss Tombourin pour l’aide à l’accrochage.

Un parti pris : organiser une grande table pour échanger sur la production culturelle et les livres photo en Amérique latine et dans les Caraïbes. Évidemment, on a vu grand : plus de 10 intervenant·es, 3 langues, et 2h30 de discussion... en plein cœur d’un festival déjà bien chargé !

Notre envie ? Favoriser la rencontre, croiser les regards et les expériences, et surtout rassembler autour d’une même table des personnes créatives qui ne se connaissent pas forcément, pour qu’elles puissent échanger leurs parcours, leurs visions, leurs pratiques.

L’ambiance détendue en extérieur a beaucoup joué : le moment s’est déroulé de manière fluide, informelle, bienveillante, riche d’écoute et de connexions — entre les intervenant·es, mais aussi avec le public. On aurait pu y passer la journée !

Des idées ont circulé, des contacts se sont tissés, et chacun·e est reparti·e inspiré·e. À refaire en 2026 !

Un petit aperçu de la performance que j'ai créé pour La.ima. dans cette nouvelle édition des Rencontres d'Arles.
Le tourbillon à table. Chapitre II, faisait partie de la belle programmation de MIRAGE Photobook Fair, une super initiative de @librairiedupalais et @palaisbooks Merci chère Delphine et Yann pour la confiance.

Avec tout mon coeur je remercie toustes mes invité.e.s, artistes, commissaires d'exposition et publishers.
Nous avons créé ensemble une bulle de joie, d'énergie et des magnifiques pièces qui témoignent de notre pratique et de notre engagement.
