« Et je n’ai pas pu penser à autre chose qu’à une sorte d’irréalisme magique qui m’aurait donné la bienvenue à Potosi à ce moment là, pour pouvoir parler de l’histoirede cette montagne et de la région. ». Maximiliano Tineo dévoile la signification qui se cache derrière une image de son projet « El Rey Blanco ». Une photographie mystérieuse, qui ramène l’artiste à un moment fort et significatif de son projet.

Throughout the festival, discover the 24 projects presented this year at Circulation(s) through an image choosen and decrypted by the artists. This is an opportunity to explore their worlds in greater detail and learn more about their works and creative approaches.

«And I couldn’t think of anything but a kind of magical irrealism that would have welcomed me to Potosi at that moment, to be able to talk about the history of this mountain and the region.». Maximiliano Tineo reveals the meaning behind an image from his project «El Rey Blanco». A mysterious photograph that takes the artist back to an important and significant momentof his project.

“El Rey Blanco” es un proyecto de Maximiliano Tineo que parte de una leyenda de 1526, vinculada a la llegada de los primeros españoles al Cono Sur, para establecer un paralelismo contundente: la explotación histórica del Cerro Rico de Potosí y la actual extracción del litio en el llamado “triángulo del litio”, entre Bolivia, Chile y Argentina.

El proyecto será publicado en marzo y se exhibirá en el marco del Festival Circulations, en el Centquatre (104) de París, cerca de La Villette y del Canal de l’Ourcq.
