LEFTSITE_002: Chophouse

Leftsite is back for _002 after its launch early this year and an explosive bass night a few weeks ago with Rolling. The second in series CHOPHOUSE is revving up in speed to explore chopped breaks, sliced basslines, broken arrangements in the world of 160bpm, under and above. The name of the game this upcoming night is UNPREDICTABLE.

Welcoming a percussive wizard all the way from Slovenia’s underground, @fujitapinnacle, to rough up the night with his style of tributing old-school rave sentiments with brow-raising off-the-beaten-track dancefloor weapons - the night shapes up.

An intimate exploratory night is stacking local heavyweights from FTD’s Break Queen @djmengzy, the Juke and Junglist @yenisounds and Macau’s legend imports and beloved maestros Budball (@meatball422) and Rasrei (@_stonersloth_) to send things to the stratosphere with Leftsite’s own @illimixes!

ROLLING TO THE LEFT: GLM

@rolling.hk and @leftsite_ return with a collaborative event to celebrate norm-shattering bass, inviting @glm_uk_ known for his forward-thinking, genre-blending production and gravitational sets. With releases on 1985 Music and Flexout Audio, he is no stranger to stretch the boundaries of bass music.

Joining him, we have a special guest @__simbie with a long standing connection to low frequency music. With dubstep at the centre, her selections move through dub, steppas, footwork, jungle, drum & bass and beyond, shaped by a decade spent in Eora’s (Sydney) warehouse scene - now based in Naarm (Melbourne).

And to round off, we have local tastemakers @illimixes @immuno.hk @mdm8_mdmber and @gongfromkong pushing sound.

LEFTSITE_001: New Beginnings

New years are full of beginnings, and this one is the beginning of Leftsite, a night to house left-field club/dance music. A “Leftfield Laboratory” for some of Hong Kong’s most cutting-edge, boundary-pushing DJs (wizards, really) to get WEIRD, and for the music-crazed to come dance and explore the wild untamed side(s) of electronic music together.

A night of curious grooves, deep basslines, strange melodies for shameless skanking and unquenchable musical curiosity.
