Girls Chat OPEN 2/5/2026
Thank you @beatsbykabuki and @open.earss crew @aglkbpm @iridedolphin @natalieachao for the inspiring discussion about taking your experiences with you forward into new projects!
CORE MEMORY SAVED –– Jan’s live performance on his gorgeous modular rack + @taurindb’s dreamy HK visuals was such a treat for us. You wouldn’t believe it was their first time meeting that day. It was a mesmerising performance that felt like an electronic music sound bath 😌
One thing that will stick with me from our chat is the idea of returning to being an ‘amateur’. The Latin root of that word is “amare”, which means “to love”. Sometimes, when you’ve been working on one thing for too long, you forget the joy, the excitement and the sense of new possibilities that you felt when you first started. This is especially so when that thing is your source of income, which brings about piling tasks that are necessary but deviate from the actual thing that you love doing! Sometimes, an artist alias begins to feel like it has run its course and you’ve grown out of it. I’ve seen so many artists change their aliases because the previous name has become insufficient to encapsulate the person they have evolved into; or people creating new event concepts that meet different needs, like the cosy @open.earss sessions for relaxing and connecting with friends through puzzles and games and cute activities! Whatever it is you may feel stuck in, one way to change your perspective is to think like an amateur...do something for the pursuit of joy rather than success 💭
Appreciation to:
@eaton.hk @terriblebaby @aplanting for the space 🌟
@jakeaaronmorton for capturing these memories 💜
@oliver_mee for life support ❤️

4 saxophones. 1 live visual artist. 70 minutes of complete immersion 🎷
Last week, we had the privilege of hosting the @noissaxophone here at HKBU.
~Nois delivered an unforgettable evening, tearing through a bold programme of music with immense energy.
The concert started right away with a powerful collaboration between sound and visuals. Beginning with Darian Donovan Thomas's Sun Thrower (2021), the quartet opened with a piece combining live saxophone music, electronics, and projections in the Whitebox, tightly followed by Alex Mincek's The Perpetual, Poly-Iterative, Multivalent, Transmodal, Vibe Mazimizer (2026). The concert continued to bring the audience deep into the immersive experience, performing pieces like Evan William's thought-provoking Jim Jones Etudes (2025) and R.A.M. (2019) by Kelley Sheehan. The concert then ended with a beautifully acoustic work, Eternal Present: Now (2023) by Shelley Washington followed by Travis Laplante's Running in a Field of Flowers (2023) with flowers projecting all over the space!
And as if four saxophones weren’t enough, Taurin Barrera @taurindb generated live visuals in real time, transforming sound into fluid, morphing colour right before our eyes throughout various pieces in the programme.
A huge thanks to everyone who joined us and stay tuned for the next event!

Prof. Chase presented works from her ambitious Density 2036 project—a two-decade mission to create a new flute repertoire leading to the 100th anniversary of composer Edgard Varese’s seminal 1936 flute solo, Density 21.5.
Prof. Chase performed four different sets that reimagine solo flute repertoire. The sets included works by a diverse range of composers such as Marcos Balter, Susie Ibarra, Felipe Lara, Liza Lim, Annea Lockwood, Pauline Oliveros, and Terry Riley.

Attention San Antonio!For one night only. “Luminous 2112”, a really fun audio visual jam with me and @taurindb
Synopsis: an alien species in the distant future finds a roadcase beneath the ruins of SA’d Municipal auditorium.It’s a road case from Rush’s 1976 tour in support of their album “2112”, which describes a dystopian future in which music is outlawed.
The alien species mistakenly thinks “2112” is an actual history of humanity and extrapolates a whole scenario based on this goofy prog concept album.
Our installation is what these aliens imagined.Features lasers reactive to body tracking, an entire book, bizarre videos triggered by a keyboard that you play, and fun.Reconnecting with Taurin’s just da best!!! Dude is amazing.
One night only, tonight, at @theespeesa for @luminariasa .Mr and taurin are a dynamic duo known as @tab_labs

One night only, tonight, at @theespeesa for @luminariasa .Mr and taurin are a dynamic duo known as @tab_labs

On March 1st, the first event of exhibition “It Always Sounds Somewhere: Sounding Sound Practice in Mainland China and Hong Kong Since the 1990s” brought together artists Gogoj and Taurin Barrera for a long-awaited reunion —their first duet in 14 years.
14 years ago, they collaborated on “False Sip” at SHANAVLAB founded by Gogoj, as the first performance of Gigonline live-streaming series, which is featured in the exhibition. From signal transmitters 14 years ago to today’s interactive programming, both explore human-machine relationships through the lens of error aesthetics. Today, we’re sharing a recording from their duet. May the sound waves travel wherever they are meant to reach.

The Instagram Story Viewer is an easy tool that lets you secretly watch and save Instagram stories, videos, photos, or IGTV. With this service, you can download content and enjoy it offline whenever you like. If you find something interesting on Instagram that you’d like to check out later or want to view stories while staying anonymous, our Viewer is perfect for you. Anonstories offers an excellent solution for keeping your identity hidden. Instagram first launched the Stories feature in August 2023, which was quickly adopted by other platforms due to its engaging, time-sensitive format. Stories let users share quick updates, whether photos, videos, or selfies, enhanced with text, emojis, or filters, and are visible for only 24 hours. This limited time frame creates high engagement compared to regular posts. In today’s world, Stories are one of the most popular ways to connect and communicate on social media. However, when you view a Story, the creator can see your name in their viewer list, which may be a privacy concern. What if you wish to browse Stories without being noticed? Here’s where Anonstories becomes useful. It allows you to watch public Instagram content without revealing your identity. Simply enter the username of the profile you’re curious about, and the tool will display their latest Stories. Features of Anonstories Viewer: - Anonymous Browsing: Watch Stories without showing up on the viewer list. - No Account Needed: View public content without signing up for an Instagram account. - Content Download: Save any Stories content directly to your device for offline use. - View Highlights: Access Instagram Highlights, even beyond the 24-hour window. - Repost Monitoring: Track the reposts or engagement levels on Stories for personal profiles. Limitations: - This tool works only with public accounts; private accounts remain inaccessible. Benefits: - Privacy-Friendly: Watch any Instagram content without being noticed. - Simple and Easy: No app installation or registration required. - Exclusive Tools: Download and manage content in ways Instagram doesn’t offer.
