Small-group craft workshops in London, taught by independent makers who are genuinely good at what they do.
I’ve noticed something really specific about the people who come to my workshops: most of them almost don’t come!
Not because they’re not interested. But because somewhere along the way, a lot of adults became convinced that creativity belongs to “other people”.
Artists.
Designers.
Musicians.
People who “know what they’re doing”.
And honestly I think London especially can make that feeling even stronger sometimes. Everybody is rushing.
Performing productivity. Trying to survive the week.
Feeling slightly disconnected from themselves without fully realising it.
That’s partly why I started these workshops.
Not to teach people how to make “good art”.
But to create a small temporary space where nobody has to be impressive for a couple of hours.
Usually people arrive saying things like:
“I’m not creative”
or
“I haven’t painted since forever”
And then suddenly they’re sitting on the floor talking to strangers about music, memories, colours, heartbreak, childhood 😭
I think we’re all a bit emotionally dehydrated lately.

I think one of the saddest things about becoming an adult is how many people stop making things because they’re scared of not being “good” at them.
And honestly, I understand it! Especially in big cities like London where everything has to become productive somehow. Even rest. Even creativity. Even human connection 😭
That’s partly why I started these workshops. Not to teach painting in a technical way, but to create a small space where people can slow down enough to hear themselves again for a couple of hours.
The beautiful thing is that almost everybody arrives slightly nervous at first.
“I’m not creative.”
“I haven’t painted since school.”
“I don’t know what I’m doing.”
And then something shifts. People start talking, laughing, getting emotional over colours and sounds.
Forgetting their phones exist for a while.
I don’t think adults actually miss art that much. I think they miss permission.
