It’s always such a treat to return to my little Italian house… the one place where I truly get to recharge. 🤪😊
Most of you know my life is rather full on - understatement of the year (😂 entirely by design, and I wouldn’t have it any other way). I tend to work rather long days - 13 to 14 hours, weekends included - so having this space to step away is nurturing and needed!
This trip was even more meaningful because I brought the wonderfully talented @malcolmwinyard with me — the creative force behind this house. He has curated everything so beautifully, from the layout to the textiles to every carefully chosen detail. He’s my hero!
Of course, true to form, within moments of arriving he was already rearranging things 🤣 and somehow making everything even better. 🙌🏻🙌🏻🙌🏻 We filmed two very fun videos together for my @julie.in.italy YouTube channel, and I cannot wait for you to see them - first one airing this coming Sunday.
In between filming, we soaked up everything I love about being here - long, delicious lunches, time with old and new friends, a visit to Lucca, two irresistible flea markets (with one very special find I can’t wait to share), and evenings at home cooking, enjoying aperitivo, and talking endlessly about interiors and life.
We also made progress on the house itself - including choosing the exterior wall colour and we are absolutely thrilled with the colour choice and I can’t wait to show you.
And now back to reality… I do have a @mapperton_estate Illustrated/coffee table book being announced in a few weeks time and still have loads moreto do (ahem, captions for 300 photos!) but at least my battery has been recharged! Ci vediamo a presto! 🇮🇹

GILDED AGE AMERICAN HEIRESS Exhibition opens in 10 days time here @mapperton_estate - and I am beyond excited!!! My father-in-law, 11th Earl of Sandwich’s grandmother and my husband Luke’s great-grandmother, Chicagoan Alberta Sturges married the future 9th Earl, George Montagu,to eventually become the Countess of Sandwich in 1916 upon the death of the 8th Earl.
We have recently uncovered the largest American Heiress collection of letters, diaries and journals in history and not only will her extraordinary life shape our exhibition but because of the immense dedication from 30 virtual volunteers around 🇺🇸 🇨🇦 and 🇬🇧 who have been transcribing Alberta’s letters for the past year, we have been able to create an Alberta AI whereby we have inputted thousands of Alberta’s letters into a Custom AI created by Luke which allows us to ask her personal questions. IT IS EXTRAORDINARY!!!
And of course, I would NOT have been able to create the space you will see soon with the genius and expertise of the truly talented @malcolmwinyard (who know has Instagram so do please follow!) xx Julie

I love the simplicity of this bathroom we created at Mapperton. By building a tongue and groove wall across a room used as a corridor we formed an ensuite bathroom and dressing room. The bath and loo were up cycled, so only a new basin was required. @mapperton_estate @americanviscountess

It's been a great pleasure to work with the Earl and Countess of Sandwich and their son Luke and daughter-in-law Julie on various projects at Mapperton. By reusing existing furniture and supplementing these pieces with some new accessories we rearranged the hall to accommodate more people. The room faces both east and west and can be bathed in the most beautiful light the end of the day. @americanviscountess @juliemontagu

I recently had the opportunity to revisit a kitchen I designed a couple of years ago. It's lovely to see it being lived in. It was beautifully crafted by @stroudfurnituremakers #interiordesign #bespokedesigner #yourinteriordesigner

The Instagram Story Viewer is an easy tool that lets you secretly watch and save Instagram stories, videos, photos, or IGTV. With this service, you can download content and enjoy it offline whenever you like. If you find something interesting on Instagram that you’d like to check out later or want to view stories while staying anonymous, our Viewer is perfect for you. Anonstories offers an excellent solution for keeping your identity hidden. Instagram first launched the Stories feature in August 2023, which was quickly adopted by other platforms due to its engaging, time-sensitive format. Stories let users share quick updates, whether photos, videos, or selfies, enhanced with text, emojis, or filters, and are visible for only 24 hours. This limited time frame creates high engagement compared to regular posts. In today’s world, Stories are one of the most popular ways to connect and communicate on social media. However, when you view a Story, the creator can see your name in their viewer list, which may be a privacy concern. What if you wish to browse Stories without being noticed? Here’s where Anonstories becomes useful. It allows you to watch public Instagram content without revealing your identity. Simply enter the username of the profile you’re curious about, and the tool will display their latest Stories. Features of Anonstories Viewer: - Anonymous Browsing: Watch Stories without showing up on the viewer list. - No Account Needed: View public content without signing up for an Instagram account. - Content Download: Save any Stories content directly to your device for offline use. - View Highlights: Access Instagram Highlights, even beyond the 24-hour window. - Repost Monitoring: Track the reposts or engagement levels on Stories for personal profiles. Limitations: - This tool works only with public accounts; private accounts remain inaccessible. Benefits: - Privacy-Friendly: Watch any Instagram content without being noticed. - Simple and Easy: No app installation or registration required. - Exclusive Tools: Download and manage content in ways Instagram doesn’t offer.
