A trusted site says it does have supports? Correct! It does.

Is it really the most famous? It is the is most searched on Google, and many researchers have said this is the most famous. I am by no means saying it is the most architecturally impressive or influential.

Was it really ahead of its time? I do not mean this was never done before. But it was uncommon in this place and at this point in time to design a spiral staircase this way.

It’s actually helical! Most experts consider helical staircases to be a type of spiral staircase, or are at least ok with using the terms that way (and often do).

Why did you take up so much space in the video? This is the first time I’ve made a video like this. This was just a fun little experiment for me. Thanks for the overwhelming love for this fun story!

Here’s something I didn’t include in my latest story…

A few years ago, designer @campbellministerdesign visited an estate sale in Montclair, N.J. and fell in love with this antique wood table.

She wanted it for a client, but the client wasn’t interested. So regretfully, she let someone else buy the table. It was carted out of the house.

A couple years later, she was hired by the new owners of that same house for a $1 million renovation. When she walked in, she saw the same table she had once fallen in love with, there in the breakfast room. How was it back in its old place?

In a stroke of luck, the new owners mentioned to a contractor that they needed a small, circular table for the breakfast room.

That contractor had, in storage, the table that had been sold out of that room by the previous owners. The person who bought it ended up not wanting it. So the table made its way back home.

Just another example of how this house seems to have a siren call!
