The Alchemy of Heritage - Legacy Pt. 3

It has been so special to work on this project. This film @blackbirdlilys has been working hard to get out to you as a final round up to capture this incredible experience and to give you some insights into the process.

I am so grateful once again to everyone at @575wandsworthroadnt , everyone at @wandsworthartsfringe for giving me a platform through which to profile my response to this incredible house, to my incredible featured artists @antoinettesmithx @mejediowusu @georgeiezzimusic @noliiitha and to everyone who guided me with tech, sound engineering, marketing, promotion, and all those who had to be in proximity to me when I was making lots of sound late into the night!

It is an odd feeling when such a huge project ends but I can firmly say the most prominent feeling is certainly gratitude and I can’t wait to bring you more art, more insights, more experiences❕

Huge love from me!!!

Pro Tip - listen with good headphones with one ear at a time 💐

we made music, we played music, we thought about it, we wrote it, we wrote about it, we thought through it and it continues

thanks to all the iconic collaborators these past few months (in chats, improvising, thinking together, playing my music etc.)

🎶Introducing Composer Marisse Cato: JAM Commission 2025

We’re thrilled to feature the world premiere of ‘ligand-tendon’ by composer @marissecatomusic at this evening’s JAM Sinfonia concert! Commissioned by JAM on The Marsh this year, Marisse’s piece explores fascinating musical textures and emotions - we can’t wait for you to hear it live.

COMPOSER-IN-RESIDENCE

We are overjoyed to announce our first composer-in-residence, Marisse Cato. Marisse will be writing three new pieces for us from 2025-2027, and will judge our composition competition in 2026. We first commissioned Marisse to write for us in 2023, and were blown away by her creativity and talent. We can’t wait to work with Marisse in more depth over the next few years.

Marisse’s Biog:

Marisse Cato is a London-born composer/scholar currently based in Boston. After studying violin at Junior Trinity Laban Conservatoire of Music and Dance, she went on to complete an undergraduate in Music at Selwyn College, University of Cambridge, focussing on composition and Afro-diasporic sound knowledges. Marisse is continuing her research and practice in a PhD with the Music Department at Harvard University. Marisse uses sound to explore processes of transmission, revision, and remaking with regard to blackness and conceives sound as a spatialised as well as temporal form. She has received commissions for stand-alone compositions and performances from Holst Singers, Siglo de Oro, JAM, Devon Philharmonic Orchestra in partnership with the Royal Albert Memorial Museum and Cambridge New Music Group among others. She works collaboratively with other musicians and disciplines including dance, film, visual art and fashion. She recently performed on violin at Tate Britain supporting the realisation of Chisara Agor’s Angelus - an exploration of music and art through the galleries exploring the history of masquerade from Caribbean and African diasporas in response to Alvaro Barrington’s commission “Grace”. You can find more of her work at www.marissecato.com or on Instagram @marissecatomusic

A few words from Marisse:

“I am thrilled to be appointed Siglo de Oro’s first composer-in-residence! The ensemble’s versatility and artistry are truly inspiring and I’m so grateful and excited to be collaborating with them. We will be exploring modes of writing for voices that engage with the complex beauty of humanity through form and aesthetic. Stay tuned for what’s ahead!”

View Instagram Stories in Secret

The Instagram Story Viewer is an easy tool that lets you secretly watch and save Instagram stories, videos, photos, or IGTV. With this service, you can download content and enjoy it offline whenever you like. If you find something interesting on Instagram that you’d like to check out later or want to view stories while staying anonymous, our Viewer is perfect for you. Anonstories offers an excellent solution for keeping your identity hidden. Instagram first launched the Stories feature in August 2023, which was quickly adopted by other platforms due to its engaging, time-sensitive format. Stories let users share quick updates, whether photos, videos, or selfies, enhanced with text, emojis, or filters, and are visible for only 24 hours. This limited time frame creates high engagement compared to regular posts. In today’s world, Stories are one of the most popular ways to connect and communicate on social media. However, when you view a Story, the creator can see your name in their viewer list, which may be a privacy concern. What if you wish to browse Stories without being noticed? Here’s where Anonstories becomes useful. It allows you to watch public Instagram content without revealing your identity. Simply enter the username of the profile you’re curious about, and the tool will display their latest Stories. Features of Anonstories Viewer: - Anonymous Browsing: Watch Stories without showing up on the viewer list. - No Account Needed: View public content without signing up for an Instagram account. - Content Download: Save any Stories content directly to your device for offline use. - View Highlights: Access Instagram Highlights, even beyond the 24-hour window. - Repost Monitoring: Track the reposts or engagement levels on Stories for personal profiles. Limitations: - This tool works only with public accounts; private accounts remain inaccessible. Benefits: - Privacy-Friendly: Watch any Instagram content without being noticed. - Simple and Easy: No app installation or registration required. - Exclusive Tools: Download and manage content in ways Instagram doesn’t offer.
