In solidarity with the brave people of Iran—especially the women and girls who once again risk everything for freedom. We hold close the lives lost this past week, and we honor their courage.

This work is from Colors of Change (2024), a durational performance by Mehregan Pezeshki for our Acting Like Women fundraiser at Bob Baker Marionette Theater. Inspired by the activism of the Sisters Of Survival and the resilience of Iranian women, Mehregan paints her body in SOS colors and weaves them into a massive yarn wig—braiding, cutting, and offering strands to the audience as symbols of protest, connection, and collective liberation.

Her work reminds us that women across the world are bound together through struggle, creativity, and the ongoing fight for peace and justice.
