Studio Vita Activa & The Common World
A Palimpsest of Justice in New York Chinatown
This design studio operates as an act of architectural activism. We will use the urgent, real-world program of social housing and a community school on the contested site of the Manhattan Detention Complex (“The Tombs”) to explore a central question: How can architecture perform a therapeutic, civic function by transforming a space of confinement into a space of emancipation, actively cultivating Hannah Arendt’s Vita Activa in a community under existential threat?
Our inquiry is framed by the fundamental dialectic between the public and private realm, now supercharged by the site’s history. We will investigate how architecture can negotiate this tension and the site’s violent legacy to foster a resilient community capable of action, work, and belonging, directly confronting gentrification, cultural erosion, and the politics of memory.

Each year, before the chaos of Salone begins, I make time for one quiet ritual: visiting Santa Maria presso San Satiro, a small chapel by Bramante buried deep in Milan’s dense urban fabric. It is more than a hidden gem. It is an anchor for all the noise of this week. Bramante’s churchis not a deception but a revelation. Faced with a site too shallow for a traditional apse, he did not retreat to a reduced plan. Instead, he constructed depth through perspective, a painted and sculpted space compressed into just ninety-seven centimeters. In this sense , architecture operates as much through the projection of spatial experience as through measured extension. The church reminds us that depth is not only built but also beheld. Ideas worth holding close as we present our new products this week. #bramante #salone2026 #milan #neriandhu

The Catalan architects continue to produce extraordinary housing projects. One may disagree with certain design directions, but their ethos remains remarkably consistent: they keep the social dimension of housing at the very forefront. Henri Lefebvre’s idea of the production of space offers a useful lens. Catalan social housing does not treat space as a neutral container or a mere commodity. Instead, it actively produces space as a social relationship, one shaped by use, encounter, and collective life. #laterpost #princetonuniversity #studiotrip #housing #barcelona

Thank you, Eva and Ricardo, for showing us Casa Beckett and, more importantly, for opening up your remarkable practice, an architectural studio dedicated to the confrontation of theory and academic practice. It was truly a privilege for my students from Princeton to experience your beautiful studio, where one encounters the unmistakable traces of hand drawing, cardboard models, and hanging lanterns. It is a practice that reveals a different kind of process and one that ultimately unlocks new intellectual possibilities and challenges the conventions of architecture. @eva_prats_arch @ricardo_flores_arch @floresyprats @princetonarchitecture #neristudio #neriandhu

Stepping into Anton and Debora’s world feels like entering a magical playground where science and art collide. From the Hemeroscopium House they called home , built from repurposed concrete channels originally used for highways and irrigation systems to their fabric lab, which seamlessly combines an office, workshop, and gallery, one cannot help but be mesmerized by their many ideas. They are a daring ensemble pushing the boundaries of architecture. I came for just a short visit, but left feeling hopeful that architecture is very much alive and in good hands with visionaries like them. @anton_ensamble @debora_ensamble #ensamble #madrid #architecture

It was a wonderful experience to see so many of Sanaa’s interventions in person on the small island of Inujima, where industrial ruins and traditional village life exist side by side. These modest projects are quietly transformative, remarkable for their subtlety and precision. Their sophistication speaks to an obsessive dedication to refinement. A process of stripping away every unnecessary gesture until only the essential remains. #sanaa #inujima #japan #architecture #adaptivereuse

Lyndon Neri, Hon. FAIA (@nerilyndon), and Rossana Hu (@rossanahu), Hon. FAIA, Founding Partners of Neri&Hu Design and Research Office, have been invited to deliver a lecture as part of the Pratt Sessions at Pratt Institute in New York. @pratt_galaud @prattsoa
The subject of this lecture is a paper prepared for the International Committee of Architectural Critics (CICA), forthcoming from Park Books, Zurich, under the title Architecture between Autonomy and Engagement. The paper‘s theme provides a framework for examining how architectural practice navigates between two seemingly opposing ideals: Autonomy and Engagement.
Pratt Sessions are a format for discourse at the Department of Graduate Architecture, Landscape, and Urban Design. Each session is devoted to an in-depth exploration of a single project by one author or practice.
The lecture will take place on March 6, 2026, from 6:15 PM to 8:15 PM (EST), at Higgins Hall Auditorium, Pratt Institute School of Architecture, Brooklyn.

Among Gio Ponti’s three churches in Milan, San Luca (1957) stands out for its elegant facade of grey tiles and cantilevered roof. The entrance plane tilts subtly inward, bisected by a vertical ribbon of glass that marks the axis of symmetry. While not my personal favorite among Ponti’s sacred works, it holds several details worth noting. #latergram #milan #sacredspaces #ponti #architecture

The Instagram Story Viewer is an easy tool that lets you secretly watch and save Instagram stories, videos, photos, or IGTV. With this service, you can download content and enjoy it offline whenever you like. If you find something interesting on Instagram that you’d like to check out later or want to view stories while staying anonymous, our Viewer is perfect for you. Anonstories offers an excellent solution for keeping your identity hidden. Instagram first launched the Stories feature in August 2023, which was quickly adopted by other platforms due to its engaging, time-sensitive format. Stories let users share quick updates, whether photos, videos, or selfies, enhanced with text, emojis, or filters, and are visible for only 24 hours. This limited time frame creates high engagement compared to regular posts. In today’s world, Stories are one of the most popular ways to connect and communicate on social media. However, when you view a Story, the creator can see your name in their viewer list, which may be a privacy concern. What if you wish to browse Stories without being noticed? Here’s where Anonstories becomes useful. It allows you to watch public Instagram content without revealing your identity. Simply enter the username of the profile you’re curious about, and the tool will display their latest Stories. Features of Anonstories Viewer: - Anonymous Browsing: Watch Stories without showing up on the viewer list. - No Account Needed: View public content without signing up for an Instagram account. - Content Download: Save any Stories content directly to your device for offline use. - View Highlights: Access Instagram Highlights, even beyond the 24-hour window. - Repost Monitoring: Track the reposts or engagement levels on Stories for personal profiles. Limitations: - This tool works only with public accounts; private accounts remain inaccessible. Benefits: - Privacy-Friendly: Watch any Instagram content without being noticed. - Simple and Easy: No app installation or registration required. - Exclusive Tools: Download and manage content in ways Instagram doesn’t offer.
