#FlashbackFriday to last week’s OUSD STEM Fair at the @oaklandcoli where the Westlake Middle School Robotics Team absolutely showed up and showed out! 🏆✨
Building a robot isn't a one-person job. Westlake's brilliant young engineers broke it down section by section—front, back, sides, and internal parts—collaborating every step of the way to create a fully functional machine capable of tackling the @officialfirstlegoleague challenge. From lifting objects to pushing through obstacles, this team proved that teamwork truly makes the dream work. 🙌💻🧱
We are so incredibly proud of their dedication, innovation, and the way they represented the Westlake Eagles! 🦅💚💛

This week’s session, facilitated by our RJ Coordinators, Ms. Mitchell and Mr.Chris created a warm and welcoming space for scholars to reflect, share, and be heard. Students opened up about how they’re showing up with SOAR, where they’re still growing, and what they need to feel ready for the next grade.
Students leaned into the real conversationsnaming distractions, navigating social media, and working through friendships with honesty and care.
They also shared hopes for next year: more opportunities to connect, more joy-filled experiences, and more spaces like this to keep the conversation going.
These community conversations are necessary if we are to truly SOAR—together.
