Diane Keaton was a unicorn.
There will never be another quite like her. As a woman and actress, she gave me permission and encouragement to be an individual. Her insecurity and humility on screen were charming and extraordinarily human. My mom and I adored her. I first discovered her in early Woody Allen films, she chilled & moved me to the core in The Godfather and later cherished her performances in those kooky romantically complicated Norah Ephron movies. Honored to have worked with her on a film many years ago, I was able to have a brief conversation about truth In acting. Something she excelled at. 
No coincidence that when I came to Hollywood, I had a signature hat, which I wore the day I burst into Henry Jaglom's office on Sunset Boulevard unannounced!
Her sense of fashion was outrageous and chic at the same time . Herself-effacing humor, enormous heart, and relatability made her a superstar.
This took courage.
She continued to express herself, her art, her dogs, her house and her sense of style on Instagram. She was ageless and always seem to be discovering new parts of herself. 
Art is revelation, and Diane Keaton excelled at this. A generous artist through and through. 🙏🏻💗
