We still can't believe what a record-breaking figure we raised at Saturday's Strictly Seashell: A Night at the Musicals.

Our dancers were absolutely phenomenal! Congratulations to all of them for a terrific performance, but in particular Ed & Vicki and Tom & Hayley for being our Judges' Winners and Tash & Chris for taking home the People's Choice award.

Imagine being told your baby may not survive the pregnancy. And if she did, she'd only live a matter of minutes.

This was the reality Lizzie and Bill faced when they were expecting their first child Imogen. But not only did Imogen live, she has thrived and is always being pushed to do more.

Her education at Seashell means Imogen will blossom from a child to a confident young woman. Hear more from Lizzie and Bill on this in our video.

For David Attenborough's 100th birthday, we had some very exotic animal friends visiting our school!

Thank you to @boosmobilezoo for showing us these beautiful animals, which include a boa snake, meerkat, owl, tortoise, skinny pig, and a tegu lizard.

Our students enjoyed meeting the different animals, feeling their different textures and holding them.

For David Attenborough's 100th birthday, we had some very exotic animal friends visiting our school!

We have now posted our response to the SEND White Paper on our website.

In it, we outline how Seashell welcomes the ambition of the SEND White Paper reforms and the focus on better outcomes for children, young adults and families.

At Seashell, we’re clear: the success of these reforms depends on fully recognising and supporting those with the most complex disabilities, ensuring access to the right specialist provision, a skilled workforce, and strong multi-agency collaboration.

STRICTLY SEASHELL 2026!

We had a ball watching eight pairs of dancers showcase a routine they've been working on for months, in front of over 400 people - most with no dancing experience, all taking on the challenge to support Seashell.

Join us for one of our inclusive community cycling sessions!

Perfect for families of children and young adults with SEND who want to build confidence riding a bike in a safe, traffic-free environment.

We have a range of adapted cycles, including bicycles, tricycles, and tandems for use on our Bradbury Cycling Centre, with both a cycle track and wider trail.

Sessions are £6 - parents and carers can attend free of charge.

Yesterday we held our Preparing for Adulthood Transition Event, welcoming students, parents and carers to discuss post-college opportunities.

We had 24 local providers set up in our Stephen Lowe Sports Hall, including residential provision, day centres and work opportunities.

"When I started my role at Seashell I wanted to provide more guidance and support around the transition process," said Nicole,Admissions and Transitions Coordinator. "Having these conversations as early as possible helps to make the process clearer and less daunting."

Thank you so much to all the providers for taking the time to offer guidance and advice today - it was lovely to meet you all!

"Seashell is a family. I never want our daughter to leave."

We spoke to Nighat, mum of College student Iman, all about her life before she came to Seashell.

Iman's start in education wasn't promising. The mainstream school she attended didn't understand the needs of SEND children, often resorting to placing her in a separate room away from other children. This hugely impacted Iman's behaviour and ability to settle.

Now she is enjoying independence and education at Seashell. Our staff understand young people like Iman and we have the expertise and facilities to help her thrive.
