We built a timber Pringle in Atlanta, so of course our team had to get some Sour Cream & Onion to celebrate!

@pringles is it time for a sponsorship?

This new multi-use building in Abbotsford is the headquarters for the BC Conference of the Seventh Day Adventist Church.

Nestled into the slightly sloping site by @sitelines_architecture. the 3-storey space consists of mass timber supported by glulam post and beam, on top of a reinforced concrete walkout basement.

Engineered and built in collaboration with @quantumproperties.ca, Site Lines Architecture, and @seventhdayadventistsda.

We lifted the bending-active Assembly Atlanta timber gridshell into place last week!

Likened to a timber trampoline (and a Pringle), the two gridshell layers (4x4 dimensional lumber) were laid out in flat adjacent to the doubly curved glulam ring beam and lifted in a matter of 1.5 hours. It was incredible seeing how light and flexible the grid was - even at an 82ft clearspan.

The structural concept is a Chebyshev gridshell created with elastically bent members supporting two layers of plywood - almost acting as a temporary formwork. The two-layer lattice shape was form-found through a series of computational and physical model exercises, including 1:80, 1:50, and 1:10 scale models built using our in-house 3D and laser printers.

Working with our engineering team, StructureCraft's carpenters devised in-house glulam presses in order to achieve each of the 6 different doubly curved ring beam segments from singly curved billets, and then hand-planed them into the chamfered shape you see. The structure uses Alaskan Yellow Cedar for durability.

We are honoured to be the structural engineer of record, fabricator, and installer for the superstructure, working alongside an incredible team:
Client: @assemblyatlanta, @graymedia, Gibson Company
Architect: @smithdalia.arch
Contractor: Bailey Construction
Singly curved glulam: @westernforestproducts
Precast concrete plinths: @sanderson.concrete

If you're in London this week, Lucas Epp will speak both at @iabsehq (Annual Lecture 2026) and NXT BLD, urging a reunion of design and construction through the use of technology.

@lucasepp will give this year's IABSE Annual Lecture on May 14 at the @istructe_official Headquarters, reviewing our latest work with materiality and structure, including the bending-active Chebyshev timber gridshell for FIFA / Gray Media in Atlanta, the new Gelephu International Airport, and the Barbados National Performing Arts Centre.

At NXT BLD, he will give a talk titled "Structural Design at the Speed of Thought": generating structural options takes too much time – yet is critical to understanding both cost, carbon, and systems integration in any building. Lucas's software startup, @branch.3d, unlocks this by enabling realtime analysis and design of structures in all materials, with a deep understanding of structural systems, manufacturing, and carbon.

➡️ IABSE Registration(almost sold out): https://iabse.org.uk/event/iabse-annual-lecture-2026-lucas-epp/
➡️ NXT BLD Tickets: https://nxtbld.com/tickets/

Upper Macungie Township Community Lifestyle Center, currently under construction in Pennsylvania, USA, is a recreational facility designed for large span indoor sports including soccer and basketball.

The structure is defined by hybrid timber steel portal frames spanning 85 meters across the main hall. Glulam members form the primary system, combined with steel tension bracing to stabilize the structure and control lateral forces. The long span trusses are prefabricated in three segments to match crane capacity during erection.

Construction relies on preassembly and sequential installation, where structural elements are positioned efficiently on site. The project demonstrates how mass timber can achieve clear spans while working with steel for structural performance.

Reimagining mass timber as curved shell elements: 2026 Pavilion at the Mass Timber Conference.

Designed in collaboration with our long-time partners, @lakeflato, the pavilion comprises three self-supporting curved DLT panels spanning 30 feet in the weak axis, fabricated flat and bent into shape at the Oregon Convention Center atop shaped DLT walls.
When StructureCraft began planning for the @masstimberconference with Lake Flato, we established one rule: Don't just build a box! Push innovation in design and material use. What if curved geometry was simple?

The key structural principal was that the panels get their rigidity from curvature, not depth or mass. Timber performing as a shell, not a beam. Shell construction has belonged to concrete and steel for over a century, and this would be a first of its kind worldwide.

StructureCraft kicked off R&D in January in our Abbotsford shop, which included a test fit of a scaled-down version of the booth. The door was the most difficult part of the process: a section of curved wall panel that peels away and hinges open on its own dowels.

The bendy door stole the show. Visitors pulled it open, felt the flex and spring, and watched solid timber swing like fabric. One highlight was a visit from celebrated Japanese architect Kengo Kuma, who stopped by and was photographed smiling and interacting with the bendable door.

The structure will also be featured at the The American Institute of Architects (AIA)'s national Conference on Architecture in San Diego next month. Come see it once again!

View Instagram Stories in Secret

The Instagram Story Viewer is an easy tool that lets you secretly watch and save Instagram stories, videos, photos, or IGTV. With this service, you can download content and enjoy it offline whenever you like. If you find something interesting on Instagram that you’d like to check out later or want to view stories while staying anonymous, our Viewer is perfect for you. Anonstories offers an excellent solution for keeping your identity hidden. Instagram first launched the Stories feature in August 2023, which was quickly adopted by other platforms due to its engaging, time-sensitive format. Stories let users share quick updates, whether photos, videos, or selfies, enhanced with text, emojis, or filters, and are visible for only 24 hours. This limited time frame creates high engagement compared to regular posts. In today’s world, Stories are one of the most popular ways to connect and communicate on social media. However, when you view a Story, the creator can see your name in their viewer list, which may be a privacy concern. What if you wish to browse Stories without being noticed? Here’s where Anonstories becomes useful. It allows you to watch public Instagram content without revealing your identity. Simply enter the username of the profile you’re curious about, and the tool will display their latest Stories. Features of Anonstories Viewer: - Anonymous Browsing: Watch Stories without showing up on the viewer list. - No Account Needed: View public content without signing up for an Instagram account. - Content Download: Save any Stories content directly to your device for offline use. - View Highlights: Access Instagram Highlights, even beyond the 24-hour window. - Repost Monitoring: Track the reposts or engagement levels on Stories for personal profiles. Limitations: - This tool works only with public accounts; private accounts remain inaccessible. Benefits: - Privacy-Friendly: Watch any Instagram content without being noticed. - Simple and Easy: No app installation or registration required. - Exclusive Tools: Download and manage content in ways Instagram doesn’t offer.
