Let the work speak for itself. I feel like that’s what @chrisjsw would say about his brand #_coded — and for the most part, I’d agree. But then there are certain milestones where, even the work, convinces the creator to share more of themself with the world.

For creatives like Chris (and myself) it’s an opportunity often overlooked or understated. So when it does happen, you know it’s significant. It’s the creator stepping outside of their own work to recognize and celebrate their journey. If this doesn’t seem like a big deal to you, it’s okay, and good for you haha.

A moment, A time, A memory. A fitting name for Chris’ retrospective exhibit showcasing some of his most popular products, explorations, and inspirations. Not to mention the launch of the PERSONA capsule collection, of which I got the Omni Pant.

What could have remained simply a brand/customer dynamic between us, gradually evolved into creative peers, and continues to grow as genuine friendship. And for that, I feel very fortunate.

What’s your relationship like with your father? Wesley Chan connects a lot of people’s adult need for validation with the lack of attention and care they got from their dads, who probably also received the same treatment from their own fathers... due to work, life, culture, or a combination of all of the above. It’s generational but how do we break this curse?
