For the stills, I dusted off an old Elinchrom Octa for a soft, dreamy light, with @retoucher_dave layering in the whitewater shots and rich brand hues. For the motion out on the water, we teamed up with the best in the business, @spencerfrostfilms, who brought all the most epic filmmaking toys and jumped straight into those rapids.

Photographing @jessfoxcanoe for @grantthorntonaustralia is exactly as good as it sounds and I’m privileged to be doing it a second time! On the water she’s an absolute force. Off the water she’s generous, grounded, and somehow makes Olympic dominance look like just any other day. Sunrise, whitewater and world champions. Not a bad way to start the day. Last winter we jumped into a brief with the incredible team @frog_design and @Qantas.
I also jumped into a pool for the opening shot.
.
Yes, the camera housing fogged.
Yes, the suitcase POV rig took a knock.
Things slipped. Gear misbehaved. Conditions pushed back.
This shoot went wrong before it went right.
.
The shots ended up working because the process made space for problem solving.
An awesome team adapting to equipment misadventure.
If you want ambitious shots, you have to schedule breathing room.

I have had such admiration of @alexjcreamer approach to creative and just generally speaking, his demeanour and approach to life, for as long as I have known him. It was a real joy and quite frankly an honour to work on what can only be described as a once in a generation project.

I feel privileged to collaborate with Nicole Shepherd and @steffiemio and the extended team at @wsiairport . Of course always a pleasure with the squad at @houstongroup plus @cheeproductions led the gang across a newly finished terminal build out at Badgerys Creek.
