Hear that? This week’s trailblazing faculty is Assistant Professor of Practice and Audio Area Head, Prof. Korey Pereira!
Prof. Pereira attended @utexasrtf and stayed involved with the department by mixing end-of-semester student films until joining the faculty in 2018. He’s the founder of Soularity Sound, a post-production sound company based in Austin, Texas, and works with several Austin and LA-based crews as a Dialogue Editor, Foley Mixer, or Supervising Sound Editor.
Of his accomplishments, the most notable is his 2022 Primetime Emmy for sound editing on “Stranger Things” Season 4. The next year, he was nominated for a Golden Reel for his work on “Stranger Things” and won for his work on “Prey.” He’s also been on the Motion Picture Sound Editors’ Board of Directors since 2021, where he now serves as interim vice president.
Prof. Pereira enjoys helping storytellers bring their visions to life through sound, which is one of the reasons we’re so fortunate to have him teaching and preparing our students for the media industry 🤘

Creative ideas really have no sense of timing… but at least they hit when it matters 🫡

Who could better prepare our students for the media landscape than our very own trailblazer and department chair, Cindy McCreery? 🤘
After earning her B.A. in Film Studies from the University of California, Santa Barbara, McCreery began her screenwriting career. She was a Walt Disney/ABC Feature Writing Fellow and has sold feature projects to New Line Cinema, Walt Disney Studios, Paramount Pictures, Nickelodeon, National Geographic Films, Warner Brothers, MGM, Branded Entertainment and Lionsgate. She also writes for television and has sold projects to Disney Channel, NBC, TNT, Televisa USA, Universal Television and more.
McCreery has taught screenwriting and television writing since 2004, first at UCLA, then UC Santa Barbara, and now at @utexasrtf. She is fueled by being a champion for her students, reminding them that it may not always be easy, but that you’ve got this! 🤘

We’re honored to be one of the film schools recognized as an honoree in @variety’s Education Impact Report!
The report spotlights schools that meet challenges with creative opportunities for students looking to break into the industry. In recognizing us, Variety noted our proximity to the growing Texas production boom, the Texas Film Commission, and local studios, and also cited our minors and training across all areas — from studio to field production to editing and storytelling. Hook ‘em! 🤘
The Instagram Story Viewer is an easy tool that lets you secretly watch and save Instagram stories, videos, photos, or IGTV. With this service, you can download content and enjoy it offline whenever you like. If you find something interesting on Instagram that you’d like to check out later or want to view stories while staying anonymous, our Viewer is perfect for you. Anonstories offers an excellent solution for keeping your identity hidden. Instagram first launched the Stories feature in August 2023, which was quickly adopted by other platforms due to its engaging, time-sensitive format. Stories let users share quick updates, whether photos, videos, or selfies, enhanced with text, emojis, or filters, and are visible for only 24 hours. This limited time frame creates high engagement compared to regular posts. In today’s world, Stories are one of the most popular ways to connect and communicate on social media. However, when you view a Story, the creator can see your name in their viewer list, which may be a privacy concern. What if you wish to browse Stories without being noticed? Here’s where Anonstories becomes useful. It allows you to watch public Instagram content without revealing your identity. Simply enter the username of the profile you’re curious about, and the tool will display their latest Stories. Features of Anonstories Viewer: - Anonymous Browsing: Watch Stories without showing up on the viewer list. - No Account Needed: View public content without signing up for an Instagram account. - Content Download: Save any Stories content directly to your device for offline use. - View Highlights: Access Instagram Highlights, even beyond the 24-hour window. - Repost Monitoring: Track the reposts or engagement levels on Stories for personal profiles. Limitations: - This tool works only with public accounts; private accounts remain inaccessible. Benefits: - Privacy-Friendly: Watch any Instagram content without being noticed. - Simple and Easy: No app installation or registration required. - Exclusive Tools: Download and manage content in ways Instagram doesn’t offer.
Keep track of Instagram updates discreetly while protecting your privacy and staying anonymous.
View profiles and photos anonymously with ease using the Private Profile Viewer.
