Having my kids with me was extra special.
Ending a fantastic awards season, the Empire Award made me emotional as it doesn’t judge a specific project, but celebrates a “Lifetime contribution to the New York visual effects community, and long-standing dedication to visual arts and filmed entertainment”.
MANY people had a part in my journey, and have a piece of this (I will tag a few in the comments bellow)

“In 1997, I faced a career decision: Go work for Digital Domain in LA, the VFX capital of the world, or move to NY, my preferred city, which didn’t have a big VFX community.
So I wrote my mission statement: “Make NY the alternative to LA.” and I moved here to start my first VFX company”

So combining multiple disciplines was a defining principle of my path and growth.”
