This 1987 photograph features a former member of Flock of Seagulls who went on to produce three beautiful children, a growing family (!) and continues to provide a young man from Bayonne, NJ a lifetime of joy. Can you name her?.....answer below

If you said @arlocations, you can count yourself among a world of the lucky to have her in this life because she is a truly generous and loving- one- of- a kind. HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO MY QUEEN.

Hard to believe I first worked with @immoniquegibson ten years ago. Her fiery spirit, thoughtfulness, and the drama she creates in a room has always surprised me and are a joy to photograph. This one is jaw dropping. I don’t say that flippantly. Nothing she ever does is trite or boring and this one.....wow. Working with her in collaboration with the graceful hand and eye of @colinking made this a particularly special GIBSON beauty. BRAVA. MG. Thank you for having me along! @fergusonshamamian @amyastley @alevasseur1 @samuelcochran @michaelsshome @_h_mart_ @kristenflanagan @liz.duan @liamtsheehan 🩵 (read the beautiful story online) by @davidfoxley

Scientific testing has proven that curved rooms lower heart rates, calm the central nervous system, and generate creativity, in comparison to right angled rooms.

What you see here in the entryway of the Snow Stone residence is a groin vault. This type of ceiling design is created when two barrel vaults (3D arches) intersect, forming a structure that naturally distributes weight with minimal material.

It is an efficient, time-tested solution that feels intuitive because it mirrors patterns we see in nature. When was the last time you saw a 90 degree angle in nature?

"The world is full of great criminals with enormous power, and they are in a death struggle with each other. It is a huge gang battle, using well-meaning lawyers and policemen and clergymen as their front, controlling papers, means of communication, and enrolling everybody in their armies.” Thomas Merton

The world is better than these criminal structures, the wars they bring, and the divisions they select in the names of their god. #photography #silence #nature #film

Tossing negatives and prints from five decades of working takes time. It is one of the myriad of life's things I have been concentrating on over the past few years. Do I really need those thirty banker's boxes of film containing all the retail images I made? What about the one or two images that, in some other context, or that now mean something unintended-- might they, in a new context, carry some weight? So slowly I edit and scan and edit. I have one small cardboard box--the kind a film a lab would package rolls of developed uncut 2 1/4 inch transparency film into and that has held objects collected throughout my lifetime. Objects that vary from children's baby teeth, a few old photographs (including one of my family the day after the 9/11 attacks to show our European friends that we were OK), notes, ticket stubs, grammar school track meet medals, watches from my elders, a restaurant memento where I had to use the provided in house suit jacket that SWAM and embarrassed me but was law in order to be seated for a meal....it all means (or meant) something to me. None of it matters but they still give me a modicum of joy. Rememberance-- so these things I kept, I will continue to keep. #photography #mementomori

New #book from @bedfordhistorical, written and edited by the one and only @theotherlynnryan, recently retired Executive Director and designed by a master of the craft of book design David Skolkin. While I no longer live there, Bedford holds a special place in my and my family's heart. I have learned that knowing history is a critical part of our survival. In America today, those who lead us blindly, completely unaware of our history and the history of the world cause GREAT and irreparable. damage. Places like these where history lives requires effort, funding, and attention to survive. The threats are constant and It takes a village to protect the village. #newyork #bedford #photography #history extra special thanks to @hounddogmedia_ we love you all

There are few homes in America as storied as @biltmoreestate, the monumental Gilded Age château built by George Washington Vanderbilt II in the mountains of North Carolina. ✨ Now a new book from @rizzolibooks, “Biltmore House: The Interiors and Collections of George W. Vanderbilt”, offers a fresh look inside the legendary residence and the extraordinary collections that have defined it for more than a century.

Designed by Richard Morris Hunt and surrounded by landscapes created by Frederick Law Olmsted, Biltmore remains the largest privately owned house in the United States and one of the most remarkable expressions of Gilded Age ambition. At the center of it all is a 250-room French Renaissance–inspired château filled with art, tapestries, rare books, and decorative objects Vanderbilt collected during his travels through Europe.

This new book, written by Darren Poupore and Laura C. Jenkins with photography by William Abranowicz, invites readers beyond the grand spaces we all recognize and into the more intimate corners of the house. The Banquet Hall, Winter Garden, Tapestry Gallery, and Library all make an appearance, alongside rooms that reveal how the house actually functioned as a home.

What makes the book especially exciting is that it is the first major publication on Biltmore in more than three decades. With new photography and stories, it gives a closer look at the vision that made the estate one of the most fascinating houses in America.

Photographs I made with a grant from the New Jersey State Council on the Arts in 1983. Pennsylvania's anthracite coal mining region was brought to mind as the trump administration eliminates climate policy, takes the human toll out of EPA consideration and works to expand coal and mining. How do we think that will go? #photography #blackandwhite #film #largeformatphotography #resist

As my sons @abbr.projects say, I am industry agnostic. I photograph everything and eternally grateful have access and get to see what I have seen. The Biltmore House / The Interiors and Collections of George W. Vanderbilt by @darren.poupore @lauracjenkins and the entire cast of employees @biltmoreestate. The writing in this book is so very well researched and readable, highlighting rooms, gardens, and objects that have never been photographed or even seen by the public. #interiors #photography @rizzolibooks @liamtsheehan my trustworthy pal and assistant who has a few pages in the book himself!

View Instagram Stories in Secret

The Instagram Story Viewer is an easy tool that lets you secretly watch and save Instagram stories, videos, photos, or IGTV. With this service, you can download content and enjoy it offline whenever you like. If you find something interesting on Instagram that you’d like to check out later or want to view stories while staying anonymous, our Viewer is perfect for you. Anonstories offers an excellent solution for keeping your identity hidden. Instagram first launched the Stories feature in August 2023, which was quickly adopted by other platforms due to its engaging, time-sensitive format. Stories let users share quick updates, whether photos, videos, or selfies, enhanced with text, emojis, or filters, and are visible for only 24 hours. This limited time frame creates high engagement compared to regular posts. In today’s world, Stories are one of the most popular ways to connect and communicate on social media. However, when you view a Story, the creator can see your name in their viewer list, which may be a privacy concern. What if you wish to browse Stories without being noticed? Here’s where Anonstories becomes useful. It allows you to watch public Instagram content without revealing your identity. Simply enter the username of the profile you’re curious about, and the tool will display their latest Stories. Features of Anonstories Viewer: - Anonymous Browsing: Watch Stories without showing up on the viewer list. - No Account Needed: View public content without signing up for an Instagram account. - Content Download: Save any Stories content directly to your device for offline use. - View Highlights: Access Instagram Highlights, even beyond the 24-hour window. - Repost Monitoring: Track the reposts or engagement levels on Stories for personal profiles. Limitations: - This tool works only with public accounts; private accounts remain inaccessible. Benefits: - Privacy-Friendly: Watch any Instagram content without being noticed. - Simple and Easy: No app installation or registration required. - Exclusive Tools: Download and manage content in ways Instagram doesn’t offer.
