Since 2016, 144 Egyptians (plus one honorary member) have shown us we don’t need to look beyond our borders for inspiration. The moments shaping our nation’s narrative are happening right here, right now.
This year, we’re doing what @mo4network does best—bringing together the country’s cognoscenti under one glittering roof. Against the stunning backdrop of @auroraowest, a dazzling setting designed by the minds at @shiftexperienceegypt, we celebrated the moments, the minds, and the magic shaping the now.

Here’s a little flashback to the time @thecairozoom teamed up with @creativeindmena to take over a huge hanger hidden in the meandering alleyways of Downtown Cairo to celebrate @cairophotoweek with one of the most talked about parties of the season.
Only @mo4network knows how to bring together such a dazzling diverse crowd with everyone from industry titans to independent artists putting in an enthused appearance. Our rules of engagement when it comes to MO4 parties are always the same, it’s never about a big act, or an over the top set up, or a specific dress code or a whole lot of bull*^it that has nothing to do with good old fashioned FUN. The focus is on great food, great drinks, great music and most importantly of all, a great crowd.
For this specific event our gregarious gastronomic friends at @thesagexperience served up the most extraordinary bites for our guests (while also putting on quite the show!). We also took the opportunity to onboard our party people into the world of Web3 via the lens of talented UAE-based photographer @waleedshah, who created dazzling portraits of our wild, whimsical and wonderful mix of people.
Right now we’ve got another big blow-out in the works with our BFFS at @creativeindmena to celebrate their upcoming annual summit (the biggest creative gathering of its kind in the Middle East!). So stay tuned for that - it’s going to be a whole new level of epic..
#SceneExclusive: Minutes before an iconic performance at the Grand Egyptian Museum, superstar Bryan Adams sat down with MO4 Network founder and CEO Amy Mowafi for a quick chat about returning to Egypt, performing inside history and never looking back.

The annual CairoScene & El Fasla IMPACT LIST is now in its 11th edition and over that time it has become a living archive of extraordinary Egyptians.
Yet for some reason, it took us nearly a decade to host an event to celebrate it. We get so busy telling other people’s stories that we sometimes forget to tell our own.
We thought long and hard about how we wanted to frame this celebration. Last year, we threw a straight-up party. It was fun and fabulous, but this year we wanted more.
We debated doing an awards ceremony, giving each of our Impact Listers a moment of iconography beyond the proverbial page. But it did not feel authentic to our DNA. To do that would also risk missing the most important point: There is no way to whittle ‘impact’ down to just a few dozen people and so the inspiring Egyptians who make our list each year are a representation and reflection of this country’s ingenuity, creativity, and infinite potential.
So we just did what we love most - put incredible people in a room together and wait to see what happens. We invited those who’d made it onto the Impact List, past and present, alongside a slew of talent from across industries, to enjoy a day in the sun on the Villa M rooftop in Zamalek. Swapping stories. Creating new ones.
Kareem Rahma, the comedian and creator behind the global hit Subway Takes, and a member of our IMPACT LIST in 2018, joined us too, entertaining and inspiring guests with insights into his own journey.
Marakez teamed up with us to bring the event to life, continuing their commitment to platforming stories that matter. They have proven to be true partners in our ongoing mission to spotlight the people, places and movements shaping Egypt now.
SHIFT Experience produced and orchestrated the day with exceptional creativity and a level of calm we deeply appreciated.
Sage, the inimitable culinary storytellers, cooked up a storm. They will always be our firmest of foodie friends.
EgyptAir were the wind beneath our wings, making Kareem’s fly-in trip possible and totally spoiling him!
Above all we’re grateful to the inspiring individuals who make moments like this possible.

@cairoscene: Each year, CairoScene + El Fasla mark the release of the Impact List with an intimate, invite-only celebration bringing together the Egyptians shaping culture, industry, and public life right now.
This year, we’ve teamed up with Marakez to bring Kareem Rahma to Cairo as a special guest speaker — the Egyptian storyteller behind global phenomenon Subway Takes, whose unscripted conversations have travelled from New York subways to international stages, earning major media attention and a rapidly growing global following.
If you haven’t explored this year’s Impact List yet, it’s now live on SceneNow.

This meeting could not have been an email. It is not often that we get to pause and slow down. That pace is institutional. It is built into the media landscape, and it has also become institutional for us as a company and as people. It is both our detriment and our instrument. Everything is now. The story disappears in a scroll, the moment vanishes faster, and we pride ourselves on being first.
Today, though, the managing editors behind all 12
of the @mo4network publications, finally managed to align on a meeting date and time. We matched the pace of a slow brunch, one where the train of thought can afford to pause for a bite of taameya dipped in beetroot hummus. We were still loud, though - apologies to our gracious hosts at Mazeej, who must have overheard some wild soundbites out of this Q1 meeting/hangout. Amid the noise and speed, though, on a Downtown Cairo rooftop, our home for the past decade, it still feels like we’re only getting started.

“Impact,” like “success,” is a slippery word. It is defined by its definers. It’s history written by the victors. Stretch the term far enough, and it starts to mean everything and nothing at once, warped by subjectivity, ego, and luck.
Every year, the CairoScene and El Fasla teams huddle and try to define it anyway. We attempt the audacious task of picking the people who made the most impact. For the sake of transparency, and abandoning any illusion of objectivity, we also disagree every year.
We argue over semantics until they blur. Is saving lives comparable to changing scenes or mindsets? Can someone throwing life-altering parties sit on the same list as someone reshaping policy? We interrogate every name: why them, why now, and why not someone else.
And yet, every year, we land somewhere familiar. A list as diverse and opinionated as the team behind it. One that reflects what we’ve always stood for: the people, places, and movements shaping Egypt today.
To “shape Egypt” is a bold claim. Which Egypt, and whose Egypt? Still, we pride ourselves on the humility to define that “shaping” as inclusively as possible: ministers and chefs, philanthropists and founders of boba tea spots.
This is impact, as we see it.
Debatable. Imperfect. Entirely Egyptian.
And with that, we present the 2025 CairoScene & El Fasla Impact List, in its ninth edition.

As Cairo Design Week cast its glow across the city, MO4 Network and ElGhoneimi International co-hosted an intimate gathering to offer a first encounter with MO4’s future regional media and storytelling hub at the Egyptian Museum in Tahrir. Set to open in 2026 and designed by ElGhoneimi, the space is envisioned as a dialogue between legacy and innovation, where Egypt’s material past meets contemporary digital imagination.
Held in the Museum Gardens — now proudly managed by Venture Lifestyle — the evening unfolded around a 30-metre monolithic table set against the museum’s arches, offering a compelling preview of what this next chapter will become. MO4’s new home is imagined as a living editorial engine at one of Egypt’s most iconic destinations — a space where ideas move freely, where narrative-making responds to context, and where the weight of history enriches rather than limits imagination. It will be a hub rooted in openness, creativity, and the belief that the stories shaping the region deserve a setting with depth, ambition, and cultural resonance.
It is also envisioned as a regional storytelling centre that looks outward as much as inward — a space that invites the world’s storytellers in, offering them a place to experience, interpret, and amplify Egypt’s narrative with clarity and care. A global creative community powered by MO4, with Egypt at its heart, where local and international voices can meet, collaborate, and craft the stories that will shape how the region is understood.
ElGhoneimi’s design concept builds on this vision, allowing contemporary interventions to thread themselves through the museum’s historic shell without erasure. Ancient textures and modern forms exist in deliberate conversation: permanence meeting fluidity, material heritage meeting digital culture, echo meeting algorithm. Light, shadow, transparency, and structure are treated as storytelling tools, shaping a space where old and new reinforce one another.
The dinner offered only a first chapter — a single evening suspended between what the museum has safeguarded for more than a century and the narrative possibilities MO4 aims to cultivate around it.
